Motor cultivators Foreman. Review of the model range. Features of operation and maintenance

The Russian brand “Prorab” is a relatively young discovery for the domestic technical market. It began operations in 2005, and in a short time became the favorite of thousands of consumers.

Among pumping, construction and gardening equipment marked “Foreman”, walk-behind tractors occupy a place of honor, the acquisition of which has become a requirement of modern agricultural production.

Features of the “Foreman” walk-behind tractors

Motoblocks “Prorab” are two-wheeled devices equipped with internal combustion engines for tillage in the garden and on the plot. According to reviews from owners, they feel great on any soil and are not inferior to foreign famous brands in terms of wear resistance.

"Pros":

  • a diverse range of models, some of which create a potential of 10 hp. and 13 hp;
  • thickened gear housing (up to 2 mm), trouble-free at high speeds;
  • wear-resistant drive belts from the Japanese brand “Fuji”;
  • steel rototilling blades, resistant to mechanical stress and breakage;
  • corrosion and UV protection of metal surfaces, allowing operation in any weather without changing the appearance of the product;
  • ergonomics and practicality;
  • versatility – thanks to a variety of attachments, “Foreman” walk-behind tractors can be used all-season.

The main and only drawback of these walk-behind tractors is the difficulty in purchasing spare parts, which is carried out directly from the manufacturer.

Areas of application and capabilities of units

Basically, the Foreman cultivator is used for processing medium and heavy soils. In this case, the area must be processed frequently. If necessary, the unit can also be used on virgin soil. However, it is worth remembering that the model’s engine will require frequent breaks for complete or partial cooling. Otherwise, the motor will require repair after just a few days of operation.

Prorab motor cultivators perform best in areas with soft soil, an area of 10 to 15 acres. It is also possible to attach additional equipment to the cultivator:

  • Hiller for hilling potatoes and other tuber crops;
  • Potato digger for collecting potatoes;
  • Single-row plow for deeper plowing;
  • Pump for pumping water;
  • Harrow for preparing seed furrows.

To operate attachments with a cultivator, you should choose it rationally so as not to increase the load on the engine and not to degrade the quality of work.

Design features of Prorab cultivators

The Foreman cultivator is distinguished by high-quality assembly, which uses stainless steel and durable plastic. Among the main design elements of the unit it is necessary to highlight:

  • Cutters made of spring steel, 50 mm wide and 3 mm thick. Thanks to the durable metal, the working elements remain intact even when repeatedly hit by stones. Black bolts and nuts are used to fasten the cut - they are much more reliable than galvanized fasteners;
  • The gearbox is in a durable housing. It is assembled using high-quality spare parts, which eliminates rapid breakdown of the element. The gearbox contains a large amount of lubricant for smooth operation;
  • The use of high-quality drive belts in the manufacture of the cultivator. Almost every Foreman motor cultivator is equipped with a belt from the famous Fuji brand;
  • The engine of most models is highly powerful, which allows the use of a lightweight unit for plowing virgin soil in a small area. As a rule, models are equipped with 4-stroke gasoline engines, although some units are equipped with two-stroke engines.

Among other design features, it is necessary to highlight the ability to fold equipment for its comfortable transportation.

Almost every model is equipped with comfortable handles on composite rods. Thanks to this, you can even transport the cultivator in the trunk of a VAZ car.

Are there any disadvantages

Like all equipment, “Foreman” walk-behind tractors also have their significant drawbacks. The first of them is the lack of quality instructions. Many device owners complain that the instructions lack important descriptions and detailed diagrams.

A common cause of model malfunctions is increased motor vibration during long-term operation. At this time, there is a high vibration load both on the hands of the owner of the equipment and on the machine itself. Because of this, minor damage to the unit may occur.

Another drawback is that the parts included in the kit are not of high quality.

Reviews

Sergey Vasechkin, Samara:

“Very good cultivator Foreman 55, I bought it on sale, the price is normal. I use it in spring and autumn for plowing and weeding. Our plot is small, the soil is loose, and 5.5 hp is enough power.”

Alexander:

“Cultivator foreman 65 W(t). With normal maintenance it works quite reliably. Clean the air filter and change the oil once a season. The plastic gears are hidden under the casing, I think there should be no wear. The motor runs smoothly without any strain. Among the shortcomings: the handles are not adjustable in height, a little inconvenient. And during the run-in, the spark plug immediately flew off.”

Motoblocks “Foreman”: running in and maintenance

Running in the “Foreman” walk-behind tractors is an 8-hour process of gentle operation, which can be divided into 2 stages:

  1. 4 hours of idle operation, subject to breaks every 20 minutes;
  2. the remaining part of the time is plowing at half the rated power stated in the instructions.

After completion of the break-in, it is necessary to replace the engine and transmission oils.

The regularity of maintenance of “Foreman” walk-behind tractors depends on the type of work unit:

  • control elements - monthly lubrication with grease or other universal lubricant;
  • engine oil - refill after 25 s;
  • transmission lubrication - after 100 operating hours.

After completing field work, before long-term downtime of the equipment, it is preserved - gasoline or diesel is drained, dirt is cleaned and moving components are lubricated.

Features of service, operation

Foreman cultivators consume high-quality AI-92 gasoline and SAE 10W-30 class motor oil. The features of the device, operation, and adjustments of the motor cultivator can be found in the factory operating instructions at the link.
