Tractor T25 (Vladimirets). Review, characteristics, instructions, reviews

The T-25 tractor is a wheeled tractor, produced in various modifications and at several enterprises.
Production of the lightweight model has not stopped even now. The T-25 was intended for plowing light soils (greenhouses, gardens), small transport work, inter-row cultivation of various crops and working with a mower. The special equipment received rear-wheel drive and small-diameter front guide wheels. The T-25 belonged to the 0.6 thrust class. The tractor, as mentioned above, was produced at two factories. Initially, the production of this equipment was established at the Kharkov Tractor Plant. The company worked in this direction from 1966 to 1972. Then the production of the T-25 was moved to Vladimir. Since 1972, the Vladimir Tractor Plant became the tractor manufacturer. This brand was assigned to him. A year later, production of the T-25 ceased, the model was replaced by a more advanced modification - the T-25A, which is still produced in Vladimir.

This tractor is very widely known in the USSR and Russia. It was developed by specialists from the Volgograd Tractor Plant under the leadership of V.V. Efros. The model was based on the DT-20 tractor, which received a huge number of modifications. As a result, we managed to create a multifunctional machine for agricultural work at a very affordable price. Since the beginning of production, over 830 thousand of these tractors have been created. The equipment was also actively used in public utilities, supplemented with attachments. its small dimensions made it possible to use the T-25 in narrow streets, which was especially useful in this area.

The basic version of the tractor is the T-25A. Later, modifications appeared: T-25A3 with a safety cage and T-25A2 with an awning. More advanced models have retained rear-wheel drive (although all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive options are now being produced) and the same traction class. They were used in the same direction as the T-25. There were few changes in the modifications compared to the original version. Thus, the T-25A2 was practically no different from the T-25, and the T-25A3 received a removable safety cage instead of an operator’s cabin. As the design improved, a new modification appeared - the T-30A80. Its differences from its predecessor were already more serious. The tractor received all-wheel drive, a comfortable operator's cabin, a new D-120 engine and hydrostatic steering.

What are the features and characteristics?

A characteristic distinctive feature of this tractor is the fact that it is equipped with a two-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine with a power of 18.4 kW or 25 horsepower - hence this number in the tractor’s marking. The T-25 tractor engine has a more massive flywheel than four-cylinder engines to increase rotational inertia. In addition, the engine is equipped with a rotating shaft with balancers to balance the gas distribution mechanism. Cooling is carried out by an air turbine driven by a belt from the crankshaft pulley.

The gearbox is multi-stage, equipped with a creeper and reverse, which will allow the use of a wide range of operating and transport speeds.

The maximum transport speed of the T-25 tractor is 28 km/h , the minimum is 1.37 km/h. The tractor has a separate-unit type hydraulic system with an independent hydraulic pump drive. The tractor's hitch can be switched to two-point and three-point mounting schemes for trailed and mounted implements.

The tractor is equipped with a power take-off shaft, which allows it to be used to drive various mechanisms and equipment. The cabin of the T-25 tractor is spacious, has a large degree of glazing, which, together with the rear-view mirrors, contributes to good visibility for the tractor driver. It is protected from noise by sound insulation, has ventilation and heating. The steering column is adjustable to suit the needs of the tractor driver. It has a comfortable sprung seat, which significantly reduces the effect of vibration on the tractor driver.

Device

The T 25 is designed in the same way as most classic tractors of this class. The machine frame consists of two separate elements on which the rear axle with drive to the drive wheels and the front axle are based, which is responsible for controlling the unit. The chassis can change the track width. Its values can vary from 1.1 to 1.5 meters. Thanks to the advanced suspension, it is possible to pair wheels. This feature allows the tractor to overcome areas with difficult terrain and difficult soils. The tractor is equipped with a step transmission equipped with a power amplifier and a reverse device. Eight gears are responsible for moving forward, and six for moving backward. A distinctive feature of this mechanism is the presence of a closed-type clutch that works in close conjunction with the power take-off shaft. The hydraulic system installed on the tractor makes it possible to mount technological equipment on it, the weight of which can reach 0.6 tons. A high-tech pumping unit is responsible for its efficient operation, which allows various elements of attachments to be aggregated onto the machine.

Engine

The T-25 was equipped with a four-stroke two-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine (D21A1) with a capacity of 20 (25) “horses” with electric start. The tractor could reach speeds of up to 21.6 km/h. The engine of this model had a balancing mechanism consisting of a roller and two counterweights. The roller rotated at the same frequency as the crankshaft, but in the opposite direction. Together with the counterweight tides made on the pulley, such a mechanism provided excellent balancing of the crank mechanism.

The D-21A1 engine, in comparison with its predecessor (the D-21 engine), had increased power and a higher rotation speed. The T-25 unit had a lubrication system with automatic thermal control. This was achieved thanks to a fluid coupling (like the D-144 engine), while the clutch drive pulley had only one groove for the V-belt. The D-21A1 engine was equipped with a single-plunger fuel pump ND-21/2, which is of the distribution type. Unlike a similar element in the D-144 engine, its plunger made two discharge strokes during one revolution, since the pump shaft cam had two protrusions.

The fuel system of the T-25 tractor worked as follows. Through the intake manifold and the air cleaner, atmospheric air was sucked into the engine cylinders, then it was cleaned of pollution products and dust in the air cleaner. Here the air went through 4 stages of purification: two filters, dry-inertial and wet-contact (purification 99.5-99.7%).

Fuel from the tank, having previously passed through a coarse filter, was supplied to the booster pump, where it was pumped under pressure through a fine filter to the pump head. Then the fuel was supplied to the injectors through the fuel lines using a plunger pair. To automatically eliminate air from the system, the drain tube from the injectors was connected to a fine filter.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of the machine include the following factors:

  • high level of reliability;
  • multifunctionality;
  • ease of maintenance;
  • excellent maneuverability;
  • high speed of movement;
  • weak pressure exerted on the soil surface;
  • large operational resource.

As for the shortcomings , “Vladimirets” has few of them. These include the lack of necessary parts and spare parts at sales points, as well as an insufficiently comfortable driver’s workplace.

Many drivers previously heated the operator's cab with warm air coming from the engine cooling system. At the same time, the hydraulic system tank was located outside (in fact, the heating was used for the environment) and had a large volume, which made the heater ineffective. The problem was solved quite simply - a tube with an on-off valve was added to the circuit, which made it possible to connect the radiator to the inlet of the hydraulic pump. The T-25 received an 8-speed manual transmission (two slow forward gears), a hydraulic hook (or pendulum towbar), a rear linkage system and a rear power take-off shaft.

The unique (at that time) semi-frame design of the model made it possible to change the track width and agrotechnical clearance, and again to re-adjust the equipment for long-term operation in reverse gears.

At the rear of the model there was a single-speed dependent PTO. All versions of the T-25 were equipped with a separate hydraulic system, supplemented by an independent hydraulic pump drive. The clutch of the model was of a permanently closed type, single-disk. It consisted of a drive clutch to the PTO and a main clutch. What made the T-25 truly multifunctional was the huge number of non-self-propelled attachments adapted for it.

How much does a T-25 tractor cost, used and new?

Today, the T-25 model is one of the most affordable tractors with a glass operator's cabin. A used version can be purchased at a price from 50 to 450 thousand rubles (depending on the technical condition and year of manufacture). The price of a new T-25 tractor starts from 500 thousand rubles.

Reviews

Every potential buyer who wants to purchase a “T 25” can get acquainted with the reviews written by users of this unit. Here are some of them:

  • The tractor lacks power during deep plowing, so it would be better to use it on light soils. When starting the engine in sub-zero temperatures, problems sometimes arise. And this is primarily due to a poor-quality cooling system.
  • Due to the fact that the weight of the T 25 tractor is quite small, it can be safely used on weak soils and difficult-to-pass ground. When using dual wheels, the machine practically does not damage areas densely sown with agricultural crops.

Where is it used?

The tractor has found application for soil cultivation on limited plots of land (vegetable gardens, greenhouses), basic (plowing on light soils) and spring-autumn cultivation, sowing and inter-row cultivation of agricultural crops. It is widely used in vegetable growing, as well as in hay harvesting (mowing, tedding and pressing bales). When equipped with appropriate equipment, in winter it is used in municipal services for cleaning narrow alleys, sidewalks and roads.

Analogs

  • Analogues of the T-25 tractor include the T-30A8 model with four-wheel drive, an improved engine and steering.
  • The multifunctional row-crop tractor T30-69 is again considered an analogue of the T-25. It is used in agricultural work. The cost of the model is comparable to the T-25 - a supported version will cost 200-300 thousand rubles.
  • In addition, there are many models from China on the market. Among them are mini-tractors FT-254 and FT-254, Fengshou FS 240 of similar power. The cost of this equipment is 200-400 thousand rubles.
