Special equipment produced under the Agromash brand is a good alternative to Western-made tractors. The machines are assembled mainly from domestically produced components, therefore they are maximally adapted for operation in difficult climatic conditions. The holding unites several enterprises that produce tractors in various regions of the country. As a result, the company’s model range is constantly expanding with new machines of various capacities and intended applications. Let's get acquainted with one of the representatives of the Agromash holding - the 60TK tractor.
Areas of application of the tractor
The Agromash 85TK tractors were intended primarily for agricultural producers of all levels: this model is capable of working with one hundred and forty types of various trailed and mounted equipment. The application possibilities are the widest. Pre-sowing soil cultivation, sowing grain crops and planting vegetables, harvesting hay and other feed, inter-row cultivation of field crops and gardens, work on livestock and poultry farms, cargo transportation.
These tractors were also intended for use in the municipal sector, as well as in forest fire management. Agromash 85TK could also be used in combination with a front loader (regular or double-jaw bucket, as well as a forklift or roll gripper), with watering and sweeping systems (rear brushes driven by PTO and with hydraulic drive, with and without watering), with excavator equipment , dumps (municipal with mechanical and hydraulic rotation; bulldozer).
JSC Sarex developed a PUM (loading and harvesting machine) based on the Agromash 85TK. It includes a front loader with a double-jaw bucket with a capacity of 0.8 m3, a working width of 2.02 m and a brush; with a lifting capacity of one ton, with a maximum lifting height of the loader of 4.2 m and a loading height of 2.76 m.

In general, this tractor turned out to be durable, economical, productive, with decent traction and load-lifting capabilities, good maneuverability and long-term operation without the need to refuel with diesel fuel.
general information
The development of this tractor began in February 2013 by the Vladimir Tractor Plant. The designers had a very specific goal: to create a compact and universal model for agricultural needs. The first prototype was without a cabin: a folding frame roof with roll bars. It was in this configuration that the tractor appeared at the AgroTek exhibition. The non-standard design is due to the fact that the order for the creation of the TK60 came from an African country, where the machines must perform work in subtropical climate conditions.
The absence of an all-metal cabin made it possible to reduce structural weight and external dimensions without loss of production capacity. The model belongs to tractors of the 0.9 traction class, designed for work in small and medium-sized fields, in conditions of limited space. Of course, over the 4 years of mass production, the car has evolved significantly, but most of the basic characteristics have remained unchanged.
Equipment options
It was planned to produce the Agromash 85TK tractor in no less than four different configurations. Including – with an extended cab + reversible seat for excavators, etc. rear linkages; with diesel engines: D145T air-cooled, D145TV liquid-cooled; with a gas engine based on them; with an imported Finnish diesel engine SISU 33DTA liquid cooling, with a beam or portal front axle.
The standard equipment of this model tractor includes: a cabin of improved comfort, a synchronized transmission, a hydraulic linkage system of a monoblock design, a power and position regulator of the hydraulic system, a three-section hydraulic distributor of the power take-off mechanism for mounted machines and implements.

Distinctive features of Agromash 85TK
The Agromash 85TK tractor has a lower operating weight compared to the MTZ-82 - no less than 300 kg, which provides, with the same load-carrying capacity of tires and transmission as a whole, a larger payload (i.e., a greater carrying capacity of the tractor), lower diesel fuel consumption and better dynamic qualities. Operational practice has clearly demonstrated that these are not just words, but the real capabilities of this technology.
In the early 2010s, the Agromash 85TK tractor was modernized. The main difference of the new modification, which was to go into production and compete for a place in the sun with Belarus, was the ability to turn the front wheels 55 degrees, instead of the previous 37. The developers managed to achieve even higher maneuverability by changing the profile of the half-frame side members and the method of attaching them to the tractor transmission (with a parallel increase in its rigidity). Also, the updated Agromash 85TK had a significantly narrower hood, and the operator was provided with better visibility of the front wheels.
The front axle of the tractor was modernized. It was equipped with protection for the driveline drive of the final drive, increasing the reliability of the crosspieces. The changes made to the design gave the Agromash 85TK the ability to make turns with a radius of 4.3 meters without braking the rear wheel and 3.7 meters with braking (a tractor produced in the 2000s described a radius of 5 meters).
A new radiator for the air conditioning system was introduced into the design of the tractor to improve cooling of the refrigerant in the system. Adjustments have been made to the wiring diagram. The ability to install a two-wire pneumatic system has been added to the tractor design for the use of a wide range of rear suspensions.

Agromash 85TK engines
The Agromash 85TK tractor was equipped with four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines of VMTZ’s own production. These are two engine models: D-145T, D-145TV, as well as a gas modification of the engine. The D-145T engine is an air-cooled diesel engine, and the D-145TV engine is liquid-cooled. The D-145T motor, which is simpler in design, is intended for use in northern and temperate climates, and the liquid-cooled D-145TV is intended for southern and tropical regions.
The D-145T engine is very simple and can be easily serviced by specialists of very average qualifications, which means it is suitable for regions with a low level of support. The gas distribution system is installed with a gear drive. The location of the camshaft is at the bottom. The transmission of force to the cam mechanism is rod-type, performed by pushers. The gas distribution system has thermal gaps that require periodic adjustment.
The engine also comes standard with a turbocharger driven by exhaust gases. As additional equipment, an air compressor and a hydraulic system are supplied, the basis of which is the NSh-10 hydraulic pump or the NSh-32 hydraulic pump drive. The tractor fuel system has two stages of diesel fuel filtration. For this purpose, coarse and fine filters are used. This ensures a high degree of diesel fuel purity before it is supplied to the injection system.
Fuel injection is direct. The nozzles are installed in a closed type; having multi-jet sprayers. The fuel pump is sectional, with an in-line arrangement of plunger pairs, equipped with an individual cam shaft. The D-145T engine was equipped with a starting aid system - glow plugs.
The cooling system of this motor is air, forced, axial type, with a fan. The system is driven by a belt, from the crankshaft pulley. The engine thermal balance is adjusted by seasonally switching off or turning on the oil cooler. The engine is lubricated by an oil pump driven by a gear from the crankshaft. To clean the oil, a replaceable block-type filter with a plate-and-band filter element is used. There is an oil cooling system - an oil radiator.
The diesel engine is equipped with attached electrical equipment – a starter and a generator. The AC generator is equipped with a built-in rectifier and voltage regulator. The engine is started by a starter powered by 12 or 24 Volt batteries.
The D-145TV engine, which has a liquid cooling system, is suitable for regions with a southern climate. It has a lower noise level than the D-145T and slightly lower diesel fuel consumption. However, the liquid-cooled layout is a more complex design. Although in its basic design it corresponds to the D-145T model. This engine is also equipped with turbocharging.

Transmission and axles
Agromash 85TK was equipped with a more modern, new generation transmission - synchronized, which provides more comfortable control of the equipment, reduces the shock load on the gearbox gears when changing gears and thereby increases its reliability and durability. Gear shifting is carried out using clutches with synchronizers.
The Agromash 85TK transmission has a large number of gears - 18 forward and 8 reverse. Transport speeds of up to forty kilometers per hour help improve the efficiency and productivity of the tractor.

Cabin of the tractor Agromash 85 TK
Agromash 85 TK tractors were equipped with single-seat frame cabins equipped with ventilation, heating and lighting, windshield wipers and rear-view mirrors. The cabin frame and its upper structure are made of steel shaped pipes. And the entire remaining area of the cabin, including the doors, is spherical glass, providing excellent visibility in all directions. The tractor hood and fenders are made of durable plastic.
The interior design of the cabin was developed with an eye on advanced examples of European technology and with the participation of foreign specialists. It can be safely called corresponding to modern world standards: an increased level of ergonomics, decent comfort and safety.
A multifunctional instrument panel based on microcontrollers provides the necessary level of control and monitoring of technical parameters of equipment. An independent cabin heater ensures operator comfort in all weather conditions and even when the engine is turned off.
The cabin is adapted to install air conditioning, if desired by the owner. An additional row of headlights located on the hood is designed to provide better visibility when working with front attachments.
Tractor Agromash 85 TK in action
Those who have had direct experience of working on the Agromash 85 TK tractor note that it demonstrates excellent traction. It is not inferior to its Belarusian classmate in this parameter and even, according to some, superior to it. “I worked in tandem with a PLN Z-Z5 plow and a potato harvester, during the work I clocked up 280 engine hours, and there was only one breakdown: the fuel pipe on the 3rd cylinder burst. Regarding comfort when working, everything is excellent here, the only thing that can be reprimanded is the inconvenient location of the handbrake.”
Another review from an “experienced” person generally highly appreciates the capabilities of the Agromash 85 TK, but notes that it is poorly suited for work in winter. The stove copes poorly with heating the cabin in cold weather (which, in fact, was the difference between the most popular Vladimirsky tractor). “The cabin is comfortable and convenient, the tractor is easy to drive: the brakes and clutch are hydraulically boosted, the cabin has a very clear view. But I didn’t like the location of the hydraulic control levers. They are located on the right and too close to each other. Therefore, before you pull the lever, you need to see which lever it is and where to pull it, otherwise you can pull two or three levers at once. This is inconvenient."

Everyone notes the beautiful and modern appearance of the tractor, but criticizes its developers for the abundance of plastic parts.
“The Agromash 85 TK performed well in plowing. But all the shock absorbers on the windows and doors began to fall off from the first months of operation. And when the question of maintenance arose: there was no literature, no spare parts. The plant does not supply anything to sellers, and nothing can be done under warranty. But the service hums and knows no more than we do.”
This is the main reason for the failure of Agromash 85 TK on the market. The peasants, inherently distrustful and cautious buyers, were afraid of the lack of developed service for this tractor and difficulties with spare parts (which Belarus never has problems with). This means that if in the midst of field work the tractor stops, then the MTZ-82 can be quickly brought back into working condition, but for Agromash there are no spare parts, either go to Vladimir, or wait a whole month for them to send it, but field work is like that – every hour counts! The skeptical mood of possible buyers is also increased by the fact that the model is still new, not tested by time and harsh conditions of real operation, with diesel engines of recent development. And, therefore, it is quite “raw”.
Therefore, the reviews of potential buyers about the Agromash 85 TK tractor can be summed up in the following words of one peasant: “I saw it live, and sat in the cab. Beautiful, of course, but dangerous for that kind of money... Today the most repairable tractor is the MTZ-82. And Agromash 85 TK - let it stand for a while longer.”

Cost of tractor Agromash 85 TK
The Vladimir Motor and Tractor Plant was liquidated at the end of July 2022. However, reports continue to appear regularly about the restart of production at this enterprise: either by the Cheboksary OJSC Promtractor or by the Rostec corporation. There was talk about the possible location of diesel engine production at VMTZ; assembly of Czech Zetor tractors, etc. But in fact, the enterprise does not work, and its existence in the 2010s before its official closure could also hardly be called work. These were the same reports periodically appearing in the media about the imminent start of some new project at the VMTZ production site.
