Hino 300 is an export version of the right-hand drive Hino Dutro truck. The debut generation of the car appeared on the domestic Japanese market in 1999. The progenitor of the model is the Toyota Dyna delivery truck, the production of which started back in 1956. It was on the basis of this car that the Hino Dutro and Hino 300 were built, initially intended exclusively for the markets of America, Asia and Australia. In Europe, the model was supplied only to Ireland, Britain and Malta.

Engine
Hino trucks are equipped with our own engines. And this manufacturer has a lot of experience in developing motors. Hino designers began producing diesel engines for heavy trucks in the 1940s. And since 1966, the company has merged with the Toyota brand.
The new version of the Hino 300 is equipped with a NO 4C engine. Trucks of the previous line (3614, 3814 and 3411) are equipped with the same unit. Only for the new series, the engine was modified in such a way as to comply with international environmental safety standards Euro-3 and Euro-4.

Compared to the previous model, engine power has increased: from 138 to 150 horsepower. Torque increased from 396 to 420 Nm. The increase in power was achieved thanks to an improved fuel system and updated compressor settings. The turbine is equipped with an electronically controlled device.
The fuel equipment for the updated model is produced by the Japanese company Denso. Electrical designs and fuel supply systems are licensed by Bosh. The turbine is manufactured by the well-known company Garret. The EGR system, which ensures exhaust gas recirculation, helped achieve a high level of environmental safety.
The 4-liter NO 4C diesel engine is also installed on the Toyota Dane truck. The piston stroke is 118 mm and the diameter is 104 mm. The camshaft is located in a cast iron block. Noteworthy is the fact that the cylinder liners are removed quite simply without special tools. A layer of polyamide applied to the piston skirt reduces friction, which improves piston performance when the engine is overheated.
The fan drive device allows you to save fuel when driving in cold weather and while warming up the engine. One of the disadvantages is the rather low location of the radiator. The fuel consumption of the 3615 model is 16.8 liters per 100 kilometers, and the 3815 model is 17.2 liters per 100 kilometers. These figures are indicated in the official booklet of the Hino 300 truck. Domestic GAZelles have approximately the same fuel consumption. Their carrying capacity alone is 1.5 tons, and Hino trucks can transport loads weighing up to 4.5 tons. This efficiency was achieved thanks to a motor equipped with an internal mixture formation system.

Fuel consumption of HINO 300 is about 16-19 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km. This is ensured by a reliable and economical power plant, where the mixture is formed inside the chamber.

Chassis
The HINO 300 chassis includes two axles. The company's developments do not include models of this series with all-wheel drive. Modifications are equipped with various types of chassis. There are five studs for fastening wheels in model 3615, six in model 3815. The machine weighs 8 tons and is equipped with a wide frame.

Transmission
For a six-ton machine, a transmission with five gears is provided. Aisin M550 changes the gear ratio from 4.98 to 0.74. For the eight-ton truck HINO 300, a gearbox with 6 gears is designed. The Isuzu MYY6S allows the gear ratio to vary between 5.98 and 0.76.
The clutch is installed as a single-plate clutch, operated hydraulically, and has a diaphragm diameter of 32.5 cm. The use of aluminum as the main material of the crankcase can significantly increase its service life and reduce wear. The transmission elements are a synchronizer and cables designed to change gears. The speed shift knob is installed closer to the driver, which provides convenience. If necessary, the lever can be folded compactly.
Brake system
Unlike a lot of equipment for transporting materials, this machine is equipped with disc brakes. Repairs do not require much time and effort, and high wear resistance increases the length of service intervals. The parking brake has an outdated system, which is the only drawback of the HINO 300.
The hydraulic drive of the brake system has two lines. The “handbrake” is represented by a drum unit; the handle in the cabin can be compactly folded, which guarantees ease of movement and the possibility of equipping a berth.
