Reviews from owners of Jak G 7 2020-2021

I bought it from the showroom. The car is 2022, with a mileage of 200 km. Today I have driven another 700 km, so far the flight is normal. It rides harder than Solaris, but acceleration if you press on the gas is excellent. However, now they often overtake me, because I no longer want to drive in a large car, and even with a CVT.

The variator works fine, although this is my first variator in my life. It doesn’t jerk, but you have to apply gas to get going, which sometimes leads to slipping: it’s a pity for the spikes, you need to relearn from a regular automatic. The electric handbrake is frankly infuriating, it turns on for no reason.

Review of JAC J7 1.5 (136 hp) CVT 2022

The seat needs to be adjusted to suit you. Among the obvious inconveniences: a high armrest (I can’t place my arm comfortably), the windshield wipers are strongly pushed under the hood (you can only lift and beat off the ice if you turn off the engine at the moment when the brushes are in a vertical position), the leg air blows towards the shin area, and the feet freeze . The car itself takes longer to warm up than my old Kia Rio.

Review of the new Jak J7 1.5 manual 2022.

After the BMW X5 E70 and KIA Cerato 2014, I decided to try something new. I took the Jak Jay 7 because the car is packed with electronics, everything is quite beautiful - everything glows. Compared to the same Cerato, the car is a little harsh, but not much.

In my opinion, the variator is a little dull, although maybe I’m just being picky, since I’ve never driven a variator, but at a traffic light you have to give a little more gas than with an automatic transmission. Acceleration is quite brisk, for a 1.5 turbo it’s not bad at all.

Review of Jak Jay 7 with CVT 2022

My height is 172 cm, so I didn’t notice the low roof and the lack of reach steering wheel. Autobloggers also unanimously complained about the seats from which their legs hang - I didn’t notice this either.

The engine loves to devour, that's for sure. In the city he eats a lot, up to 12 liters. It's noticeably better on the highway. When I traveled along the Chelyabinsk-Kazan route and back, the on-board computer showed consumption from 6.0 to 6.4 liters.

Specifications

Jak Ji 7 2022 is built on the basis of a front-wheel drive platform with a monocoque body, the design of which widely uses high-strength steel grades. The suspension of the Chinese liftback is completely independent: the car is equipped with the usual MacPherson struts at the front, and a multi-link design is used at the rear.

There are anti-roll bars on both axles of the model. As for the brakes, they are all-round disc brakes, and they are also ventilated at the front. The JAC J7 liftback has the following overall dimensions, mm

  • Length - 4 775
  • Width - 1,820
  • Height - 1 492
  • Wheelbase - 2,760
  • Ground clearance (clearance) - 125

The default trunk volume of the model is stated at 540 liters, while the manufacturer provides the ability to fold the rear seats, which allows you to increase the hold capacity to 1,510 liters. The fuel tank of the car is designed for 55 liters. When equipped, the car weighs 1,432 kg with a manual transmission, and 1,440 kg with a CVT.

In Russia, the new Jak J7 model is offered with a non-alternative 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 136 hp. (200 Nm), which can work with both a six-speed manual and a CVT. Unfortunately, the Chinese do not advertise the acceleration time from zero to hundreds, although the maximum speed of the car is known - 170 km/h.

The JAC J7 2022 does not have outstanding feedback, but overall the liftback handles well, responding adequately to the steering wheel even on a winter road. The stabilization system is configured competently, due to which the car corners confidently, but not without excitement. The suspension is quite energy-intensive, but you should still slow down before large pits.

For operation within the city limits, the 136-horsepower turbo engine is enough, but on the highway, overtaking the five-door is not as good as we would like. There are no questions about the operation of the variator, but the manual version is perceived as a little more dynamic.

At first glance, the front seats in the new Jak G 7 have a well-thought-out profile, but not everyone can fit in them comfortably. The reason for this is the short and almost flat pillow, which makes it feel like there is not enough support for the legs.

The second row of the liftback has a sufficient supply of free space in the legs, and there is almost no central tunnel here. But the ceiling is still low, which can make tall passengers (180 cm or more) uncomfortable.

But the trunk in the JAC J7 is one of the most spacious in its class. For a budget model, the compartment is well finished, but the amenities here are only one light bulb and a small pocket with a flimsy-looking mesh.

JAC N56: Owner review. In the “weight category” up to 3500 kg

In the “weight category” up to 3500 kg

“JAC N56” is a light-duty truck that requires a license category “B” to drive (in the version “with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons”).
Small in size and maneuverable, it will satisfy a wide range of needs of small and medium-sized businesses: transportation of various types of cargo, delivery of goods to shops, performing routine work in urban utilities, and so on. First of all, this compact truck is adapted for urban conditions, but if necessary, it will also be useful on country roads. There are still few cars of this model in Russia, but it is already possible to form some reliable impression about them based on the reviews of the owners. has been producing cars for over forty years, and today it is one of the largest automakers in China. This brand produces not only commercial trucks, but also loaders (electric, diesel, gas-gasoline with a lifting capacity of 1 to 10 tons), hydraulic trolleys, cars, off-road vehicles and minivans; heavy-duty dump trucks and concrete mixer trucks, buses and bus chassis, electric vehicles and electric buses. And also engines, gearboxes, mechanical engineering equipment.

About technical specifications

JAC N56 is the lightest commercial truck in the JAC Motors line of all models presented in Russia. Common options for its execution: auto-hydraulic lift, flatbed and flatbed with an awning, manufactured goods or isothermal vans, refrigerator, crane-manipulator, tow truck, tanker (water carrier, milk tanker). Overall dimensions and weight indicators:

  • Length – 5840 mm, width – 1860 mm, height – 2215 mm.
  • Frame length – 4230 mm, wheelbase / distance between axles – 3360 mm.
  • Installation dimensions – 4230-4600×1861-2200 mm.
  • Overhang – 1110/1494 mm.
  • Ground clearance – 205 mm, front track width – 1440 mm, rear track width – 1425 mm.
  • The maximum climbable grade is 30%.
  • The minimum turning radius is 7 m.
  • The curb weight of the chassis is 2155 kg, the standard load capacity is 3445 kg. The maximum permissible weight is 5600 kg, of which the load on the front axle is 2250 kg, on the rear axle – 3350 kg.

Especially for work in the central areas of large cities (“right up to the Kremlin”), there is a version of the JAC N56 truck with a maximum weight of 3500 kg. Its standard load capacity is 995 kg.

  • Fuel tank capacity – 100 liters.
  • Tire size – 205/75R17.5. The rear wheels are double.

About the JAC N56 engine

The smallest JAC is equipped with time-tested four-cylinder diesel engines JAC HFC4D, liquid cooled, turbocharged and intercooled. They were created using Isuzu technology and were produced for some time for the Isuzu Trooper SUV.

On modern JAC N56 trucks, these engines of the HFC4DA1-2C and HFC4DE1-1D modifications are brought to compliance with Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. The compression ratio is 17.

This economical diesel engine is lightweight (240 kilograms) and small overall dimensions (737 mm x 578 mm x 690.5 mm). Fuel system – with a Bosch pump, VE injectors and electronic injection “Common Rail” + DOC + POC (“Euro-4”), or “Common Rail”+SCR+DOC (“Euro-5”).

The first version of this power unit is an engine modification “HFC4DA1-2C” (“Euro-4”) with a displacement of 2.8 liters (2771 cubic centimeters), producing 116 horsepower (85 kW) at 3600 rpm and 250 Nm of torque torque at 1600-2800 rpm.

Option two is also a 2.8-liter (2746 cubic centimeters) power unit “HFC4DE1-1D” (“Euro-5”), which develops 150 hp. (110 kW) at 3200 rpm and 355 Nm of available potential at 1800-2600 rpm. The “junior” version works in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the “senior” version – with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In both cases, the entire power reserve is sent to the rear wheels. The maximum JAC N56 truck can accelerate to 90-110 km/h; Diesel fuel consumption under combined conditions of use is within 10/14 liters per 100 km. Even if the refrigeration unit of a refrigerator is used, and even with a serious “windage” of the van.

The last update of the engine took place at the end of 2022; it was adapted to Euro-5 standards. After that, it began to work without an EGR valve, and urea, also known as Ad Blue, became “responsible” for the environment, which, although it costs additional costs, does not bring such problems as this very valve. With the new six-speed gearbox, driving the car has become much more comfortable and enjoyable.

Transmission and axles "JAK N56"

Mechanical 5- and 6-speed gearboxes are analogues of gearboxes from leading European manufacturers, but they are produced under Chinese brands. The most common, 5-speed, is called “JAC LC5T28”. The six-speed is called “LC6T42”.

The solid front axle is manufactured using Isuzu technology and has a high degree of resistance to torsion and bending. Rear drive axle “HAAM5.571” (with a 5-speed gearbox), or “HAAM4/875” (with a 6-speed gearbox), also made using Isuzu technology, - with balanced axle shafts and a single-stage gearbox.

Frame, suspension, brakes “JAC N56”

The JAC N56 truck is based on a riveted reinforced frame 170 mm x 60 mm with a thickness of 5 mm, spar-type - a “ladder”, on which all the main components and assemblies are placed. “In a circle” the truck is characterized by dependent suspensions on longitudinal semi-elliptical springs with hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars.

Semi-elliptical alloy steel springs: 7 leaves at the front and 9 leaves at the rear have good corrosion protection due to individual painting before assembly.

The front brakes of the JAC N56 are ventilated discs, the rear brakes are drums. There is a mountain brake and a four-channel ABS - anti-lock braking system.

About the configuration

The undoubted advantage of the lightest of the JAC trucks is the most complete set already in the basic version. It includes, in particular, power steering, air conditioning, electric windows, an audio system - MP-3 radio with two speakers and an antenna, central locking, electrically heated rear-view mirrors, a steering column adjustable in two planes, daytime running lights, driver seat belts and passenger height-adjustable, shelves above the heads of the driver and passenger, easy-to-clean floor covering, reverse buzzer, spoiler, footrest with anti-slip coating, ABS.

And also: a “winter package” consisting of: an autonomous liquid preheater “Webasto”, a fuel filter with heating and a separator, glow plugs, two 12V 100 Ah batteries (in a closed battery box), additional floor insulation, mosquito nets and thermal insulation engine screen, lower engine and gearbox protection.

The central seat is designed for short trips; its back can be lowered and transformed into a table. By the way, the backrest of the second passenger seat can also be folded. There is a spacious storage pocket on the rear wall of the cabin.

The manufacturer's warranty is 3 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. The cost of the new JAC N56 is from 1 million 400 thousand rubles.

What the owners say

pros

Good performance, at the level of Korean trucks. “Japanese origin”: The JAC N56 can be called the Chinese equivalent of the Isuzu Elf light truck. Modern design: the cabin looks very dignified both outside and inside.

The engine is torquey, starts well (even in severe frosts) and runs consistently well at low speeds. It is better to fill in high-quality diesel fuel: modern fuel equipment with Common Rail is quite picky.

Unexpectedly decent cross-country ability. Calmly and methodically takes him out of both the mud and the snow. Good handling: excellent road holding, corners freely. The maximum possible maneuverability for a truck: allows you to get out of difficult situations in any cramped areas, in yards crowded with cars, etc. The maneuverability of the car is in no way inferior to a passenger car.

The review is good. The cabin is not too low - the roadway is visible even above large SUVs. Not too spacious, but generally comfortable and well-thought-out driver's workplace. There are also more than enough drawers and niches for things.

The wheel arches have good anti-gravel protection. The cabin has excellent vibration, noise and heat insulation. It rises very easily and is securely fixed in its upper position.

Minuses

Quite a stiff suspension. Driving on broken roads is uncomfortable. The mirrors are not very well positioned, especially the right one (when the glass is dirty, almost nothing can be seen through it). The wipers turn on differently from almost all other cars. You have to get used to it and adapt.

In the opinion of many owners, the cabin is cramped and very narrow, for example, compared to the GAZelle. Inside, two can sit in relative comfort, three can also sit. But - without comfort. Budget plastic finishing. However, we must pay tribute, it was fitted extremely carefully everywhere, and “after 22 thousand kilometers, nothing creaks yet.”

The seat in the cabin is not sprung, but is simply tightly screwed to the cabin. And the pillow on it is quite thin. A long-distance flight or an overnight stay (if necessary) in the cabin is out of the question: there is, of course, no sleeping place; The seats are not only hard, but the cabin itself is too narrow to be able to lie across the seats in it. So the JAC N56 is comfortable enough only for one-day routes.

The gears are located quite close to each other, so at first you have to get confused whether you are in second or fourth gear.

The base tires on the wheels that a new car is shod with are hard, especially for winter.

The steering wheel lacks information content in the near-zero zone. Therefore, moving over our potholes, and even if without a load, you need to hold on to the steering wheel more tightly.

JAC N56 trucks of earlier years suffered from problems with electrical wiring. It is assured that now all new JAC trucks are free from these problems: they are equipped with Bosch wiring, with modern insulated connectors. “Smart” pre-heaters and heaters from Webasto will prevent the battery from being completely discharged.

"JAKovody" - about service maintenance "JAC N56"

“The disdainful attitude towards the Chinese automobile industry has been broken by the guys from the JAC representative office, who know each of their clients,” notes one of the owners of the JAC N56, who himself carries out transportation with his car, “if at least one truck leaves for an area where there is no dealer — they find a station that will officially serve it. Service when moving around Russia is organized on the first call, including the delivery of spare parts even for self-repairs.” The existing JAC N56 fleet in Russia and the CIS is very small, but the quality of service is decent.

According to the manufacturers, the new head is from the Chinese quality control department, and he focuses on maintaining decent quality to increase sales. Some car components on the assembly line come from global brands. completely abandoned ferrous metal, all metal is first-class. Metal parts undergo acid priming. Even though these are not cathode baths, they also increase service life.

The Russian representative office of JAC itself already has more than thirty dealers and even more service agents throughout Russia. In the event of a breakdown, auto parts are usually delivered in just 2-4 days.

JAC N120: Owner review. 12+ tons. That's right, with a plus

12+ tons. That's right, with a plus

The total weight of the JAC N120 truck is 11.99 tons, so the vehicle is not subject to the notorious Plato system.
The standard chassis load capacity of 7,690 tons, the wheelbase of 4.7 m and the installation length of the cargo compartment of 6.2 m allow the installation of a wide range of superstructures. “JAC N120” can rightfully be called “12 plus”. Not only the assurances of manufacturers and sellers, but also real reviews from owners claim that the design of the truck is designed for a 30 percent load above that stated in the official documentation. Judging by the package of springs and taking into account the 12-ton legislation (the “same” Plato system), this is very similar to the truth. All the details about this interesting modern model are below. Many owners and drivers of the JAC N120 truck say that from the very first “meeting” with it they had the impression that it was not a Chinese, but a Japanese car. Indeed, the similarity with “Isuzu Forward” is, if not one hundred percent, then very strong. The JAK N120 cabin is produced under license from Izuzu, being an exact copy of the previous generation Japanese cabin.

In addition to the Japanese cabin, which is produced under license, much of the JAC N120 can also be called borrowed, and not from the worst sources: the engine is Cummins, the steering equipment is ZF, the electrics are Bosch, the brake system is Wabco" or "Knorr-Bremze", drive axle - "Stayer", gearbox - "Isuzu". However, everything named, like other components and parts, was produced and assembled in China.

JAC Motors in our market: adventures of the Chinese in Russia

For the first time, JAC trucks and buses officially appeared in Russia in 2005. Then these were completely different machines than now, and a completely different implementation scheme. A domestic company bought cars from a Chinese manufacturer and resold them in Russia. After the 2008 crisis, this “reseller” went bankrupt and the chain was broken.

Then, the second major partner of JAC Motors in Russia was TagAZ - the Taganrog Automobile Plant, at whose facilities, along with trucks and cars of many other brands, JAC trucks were assembled and sold. However, in 2011, the law enforcement agencies that were looking for the director were closed. The territory turned out to be sealed, the fate of $15 million in investments and unpaid vehicle kits for JAC trucks was unclear.

Again, a cooperation agreement was signed with another dealer company (third attempt), however, this company also had an inglorious fate. After this, in 2014, it was decided to create our own distribution company in Russia. The founder of JAK Automobile LLC, with a 100% share of the authorized capital, is a Chinese manufacturer, and Russian employees are involved in the development and promotion of brand cars.

Trucks will now be assembled in Kustanay. This will have a positive impact on the cost of cars due to the absence of customs and recycling fees.

About the JAC N120 warranty and service for these trucks

Currently, three models of the N series are offered on the Russian market: small and medium-tonnage trucks, of which the JAC N120 is the largest in terms of overall dimensions and load capacity. This is already the fourth generation of JAK trucks, much more progressive in quality and reliability than the previous ones.

Since February 2022, JAC Automobile LLC has been the official distributor of JAC brand cars in Russia. Since 2018, the warranty period of the JAC N120 model has been increased to 3 years or 200 thousand km. The service interval is 20 thousand kilometers.

It is obvious that the fourth generation JAC N120 trucks can no longer be associated with those Chinese vehicles that previously entered the Russian market or were assembled at TagAZ. They worked seriously on the quality of the JAC N120. The manufacturer's three-year warranty speaks volumes about this. Interestingly, it even applies to fuel injectors (although not for all three years), while this is not the case for the “promoted” Japanese “Hino”, “Fuso” and “Isuzu”. According to the owner of the JAC N120, even tires (!) that could not be balanced were replaced under warranty.

About the JAC N120 design

The car gravitates towards composite frames. In the past, this technical solution was used on heavy dump trucks and was attributed to the quality of the metal, as well as significant excess weight of the transported cargo. The explanation for the presence of a composite frame on a light truck is simple: a sandwich is always stronger than a monolith. The 12-ton JAC N120 has a double frame that is extremely resistant to overloads. Powerful multi-leaf springs are from the same “opera”. The rear ones consist of two packages, which contain as many as 19 sheets; the front ones are also “not greedy.”

To produce the frames of these vehicles, the largest press in all of Asia is used - a 9,000-ton Kawasaki. Thus, the metal is processed immediately, in one pass, which avoids the “memory effect”.

Engine and transmission

The diesel engine installed on the JAC N120 is familiar on the Russian market. This is a four-cylinder turbocharged “Cummins ISF3.8S5168” (3.76 l), with a power of 166 horsepower and a torque of 592 N.m. (forced version of it). Similar Cummins are found on many Valdai, “junior” MAZ and other trucks. The current Euro-5 environmental level of the engine is provided by the Common Rail and SCR systems. Compression ratio - 17.2. The volume of the aluminum diesel fuel tank is 210 liters. JAC Motors declares the service life of this engine at 600 thousand kilometers.

The engine is coupled with a manual 6-speed “WLY6G70” gearbox. The drive axle “HAAM 4.875” is designed for a load of 9 tons.

About the JAC N120 package

The standard equipment of this model can be called rich, or “extended”. It includes an on-board computer with a Russified LCD display, an MP3 radio with an antenna and speakers in the doors, ashtrays in the side doors, sun visors and ceiling shelves in the cabin, wiring for the tachograph and a connector for its connection.

There is a mountain brake, a reverse buzzer, an energy-absorbing front bumper, cruise control with steering wheel controls, electrically adjustable headlights, daytime running lights, a full set of tools and a lockable storage box. The truck is equipped with power steering and a dual-circuit pneumatic braking system with 4-channel ABS.

In the basic configuration, the JAC N120 chassis is also equipped

  • more powerful heater,
  • heated fuel filter and separator,
  • heated rear view mirrors,
  • frost-resistant rubber parts and elements,
  • additional insulation and sound insulation of the cabin,
  • mosquito net with heat-insulating screen for the engine radiator,
  • protection of the engine crankcase and gearbox,
  • closed battery box,
  • preheaters for the oil sump and engine fuel system,
  • connected to a 220V power supply,
  • exceptionally reliable Bosch electrical wiring with well-protected connectors.

All this is part of the so-called “winter package” for operation in Russian conditions. As an option, it is possible to install a Webasto pre-start liquid heater. The company plans to install additional thermal insulation on the front panel of the cabin and modified seats.

By additional order you can get air conditioning, central locking, electric windows, digital tachograph, roof spoiler and power take-off.

One of the popular chassis add-ons for JAC N120 trucks is a manufactured goods van produced by the Nizhny Novgorod Automechanical Plant LLC. The internal volume of the frame body, covered with panels glued together from clad metal and moisture-resistant plywood, is 40 cubic meters, which provides accommodation for 16 standard Euro pallets.

What JAC N120 owners say: quotes

pros

Reliable, unpretentious, economical engine. It starts well, runs smoothly and stably in any situation. The dynamics are decent. The average diesel fuel consumption is low, about 14-16 liters per 100 km.

Ground clearance is quite sufficient to climb curbs (not to mention speed bumps). With cross-country ability, everything is also in perfect order.

The chassis is completely free of the “childhood disease” of many other manufacturers - there are no bare wires. All electrics are hidden in double, and in some places triple insulation. The connectors are also sealed, and the metal in the relay is protected from contact with dirt and water.

The cabin is spacious. Its back wall is made somewhat convex. The view through the panoramic windows is simply perfect in all directions. The on-board computer is informative, useful, fully Russified. Rear side windows with pivoting glass improve ventilation.

Getting into the cabin is comfortable: the door opening is wide, anti-slip steps, handles on the A-pillars. The driver can adjust the controls to suit himself using the steering wheel, which can be moved in tilt and reach, as well as the driver’s seat, which is adjustable in the longitudinal direction and in the angle of the backrest.

The plastic interior trim of the cabin is of very high quality; its texture is not much different from the same in the cabins of European trucks. The build quality is equally high quality and neat.

Excellent vehicle maintainability. First of all, convenient access to almost all its important components and assemblies is provided. For example, the gearbox is much easier to remove than many competitors. To successfully understand the intricacies of energy highways, the JAC N120 uses multi-colored wires and hoses. And most importantly, this car uses a minimum of electronics, which in our conditions is a definite big plus.

The design of both the exterior and interior of the cabin is very decent. Visually, the JAC N120 looks no worse than its Japanese “brother” - the Isuzu Forward. The general impression: this is far from the same China that was offered on the Russian market ten years ago.

Minuses

The suspension is a bit harsh. At the rear there are multi-leaf springs - two packages on each side. This whole structure looks impressive and durable. Which is a consolation from the harshness.

The sleeping area is narrow, cramped and hard. But it’s still better than not having a sleeping bag at all. You can also fold the backs of the passenger seats forward, getting additional space for relaxation, which is already quite decent.

The middle passenger seat can only be called full-fledged only with a stretch. It will be uncomfortable to sit on it for a long time: it is narrow and without a headrest. But it is very convenient to fold it, turning it into a table.

Cabin sound insulation is quite mediocre. You can’t call it bad, but you can’t call it ideal either.

The location of the handbrake control lever, which is installed to the right of the driver’s seat, is not very well thought out. In the future, this control element will be moved to the front panel.

The driver's seat is completely devoid of suspension: it is simply attached to the floor of the cabin. In the future, they promise the appearance of a sprung seat on the JAC N120, but these plans have not yet been implemented.

In general, one cannot help but admit that the JAC N120 truck is a prominent representative of the “new Chinese product”, which has nothing to do with previous ideas about poor quality and fragility. With a price much more attractive than that of its Japanese and Korean classmates, the JAC N120 is a completely competitive truck compared to them.

The three-year warranty for the JAC N120 looks impressive, and the service is modern and dignified. The service interval for this model is stated at 20,000 km. The owners have no problems with servicing the car. Since all manuals and electrical diagrams are available in Russian, an excellent catalog of spare parts by VIN code has been created, and any more or less competent mechanic can find and replace auto parts without difficulty and loss of time. The truck comes with a complete zip kit that contains every repair tool imaginable. While the car is under warranty, specially trained people are engaged in repairs. And it’s free too.

The cost of the modern fourth generation JAC N120 is from 2,426,000 rubles.
