It was like this: I bought a used trailer, not for a lot of money with documents, but in a deplorable condition. Since the height of standard sides is 25 cm (not enough for me), I made it 40 cm high (a frame made of professional pipe with a 1.5 mm sheet riveted from the inside) 2 It was necessary to align the longitudinal sides with the transverse ones ., and at the same time strengthen. It was decided to strengthen it with a board, 15 cm wide and flush with the side. I brought gravel, loaded less than the standard sides, fell on the bump stops, it wasn’t far to go - I made it... The load didn’t suit me and I decided... 4 Replacing the suspension is what should help.. I disassembled the wishbone suspension, I cut off the washers welded to the levers (by means of which the hub is attached). I made an axle with a lowered beam (from the photo you will understand that the wheel axis is higher than the beam axis). Then I bought 469 front springs, stepladders + nuts, earrings + bushings. The springs had to be softened (too rough), pay attention to the photo of the spring. As a result of the alteration, the result was: toe 3 mm, camber 3 mm, body volume 0.9 m3, load capacity - the load was level on the sides (gravel, sand), there were 8-10 cm left before the bumpers, do the math yourself (material density per volume). As for the reliability of the structure: a little over 50 tons were transported and unloaded on a cart, the spring bushings were cheap - they cracked but did not burst (I bought polyurethane ones). By the way, during the next unloading, the lights from 66 died out for a long time (they were in the standard place), so now they are from Kamaz - transferred from the edge and bottom of the tailgate. When unloading, the trailer is placed vertically. The cart behind the car goes as if on rails, the empty truth occasionally bounces, but not all at once, but one by one... By the way, I came to the idea and installed 16″ 7J wheels, 215*70 R16 tires, it’s more fun to roll on large skating rinks, but that’s not the case either the limit is a set of 235*70 R16 in the storage room.

A representative of this group is the KMZ-8284 trailer. It can be used with all passenger cars that have a coupling device. For a soft and smooth ride, both springs and shock absorbers are installed. The sides can be single-row (with a height of 33.5 centimeters) or double-row (the height of each row is 25 centimeters). In addition, there is additionally a removable frame (in the form of arcs) with an awning. The front and rear sides are removable. This facilitates the loading process and allows you to transport loads up to five and a half meters in length.

The trailer can even be stored in an upright position. This saves space. In this position it occupies less than one square meter.

The technical characteristics of the KMZ-8284 trailer include the following:

  • The curb weight of the trailer is eighteen kilograms.
  • The permissible cargo weight is three hundred and seventy kilograms.
  • The length of the trailer is 3.1 meters, with the drawbar extension installed – 3.9 meters.
  • Width - 1.8 meters.
  • Height with an awning is 1.1-1.3 meters (depending on modification), with a rigid superstructure - 1.6-1.7 meters.
  • The dimensions of the interior of the trailer are 1.9x1.2x0.5 meters.
  • The permissible speed is ninety kilometers per hour.

Another bright representative of this category is the KMZ-8136 trailer. Its dimensions are as follows: length - 1.9 meters, width - 1.2 meters, height - 0.3 meters. The platform area with these dimensions is 2.23 square meters. It is capable of transporting cargo weighing no more than 390 kilograms. The weight of the trailer itself is one hundred and sixty kilograms.

One of the first serial products developed specifically for the products of the VAZ plant was the MMZ-81021 trailer. Production started in 1972 and was carried out at the production facilities of the machine-building plant in Mytishchi. The main feature of the trailer was the wide unification of parts with Zhiguli cars, from which the wheels, tires, wheel bearings, and suspension elements were borrowed. Thanks to this, repairs to the vehicle and trailer while on the road could be carried out using the same tool. At the same time, there was no problem with the search and selection of spare parts and components.

An important characteristic of the MMZ-81021 was a unified towing device, which made it possible to operate the trailer with any vehicle. A big plus was the significant dimensions of the cargo platform, which were almost 1.85 meters long and 1.6 meters wide. Due to the sides with a height of 45 cm, it was possible to place a significant amount of cargo, the weight of which should not exceed 135...285 kg (depending on the make of the car). The tarpaulin awning on the MMZ-81021 was installed on special arches, which were included in the standard equipment of the trailer. Due to the awning, the useful internal volume of the trailer was 1200 liters, which was a very good indicator.

Models for transporting boats

The KMZ trailer can be used for transporting boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and so on. Such models are distinguished by a modified frame design, increased dimensions and load capacity.

For example, the Vodnik trailer, or KMZ-8213-03, can be used for transporting boats and jet skis. His weight is one hundred and sixty kilograms. At the same time, it is capable of transporting loads weighing five hundred and ninety kilograms. It has a spring-type suspension. Its dimensions are 3.1x1.7x0.8 meters. With such dimensions, it transports loads up to 4.2 meters long.

Modernization of the KMZ-012 tractor

Owners of domestic agricultural technicians have always tried to minimize factory defects or simply improve its performance and comfort by making their own changes to the design. KMZ-012 was no exception.

Replacing the hydraulic pump.

Often craftsmen make or adapt hydrostatic equipment not provided by the manufacturer, for example a front loader. In this case, the power of the standard NSh-6 is usually not enough, and the NSh-10 is installed. No special changes to the design are required.

Specialized models also include trailers that are used to transport ATVs and snowmobiles.

Trailer KMZ-8213-A7, or “Taiga-2”. used for transporting snowmobiles. It has increased dimensions and weight. Its mass is 280 kilograms. Length - 3.4 meters, width - 1.4 meters, and height - 0.4 meters. Its carrying capacity is 470 kilograms. The design is made in the form of sides on which a frame with an awning is attached. The suspension, like the previous model, is spring.

Another type of trailer has the interesting name “Tandem”. This is a KMZ-8213-E7 trailer. It is suitable for transporting two vehicles at once. These could be snowmobiles or ATVs. Its design is presented in the form of an open platform. Body size - 3.6x2.0x.01 meters. And the dimensions of the entire trailer are 5.3x2.1x1.3 meters. The curb weight of the model is three hundred and fifty kilograms. It is capable of transporting loads weighing four hundred kilograms. The suspension is more durable, spring type.
