Automotive exhibitions – “Bauma CTT Russia 2022: Home Format”

The largest exhibition of construction equipment and technologies in the CIS, Bauma CTT Russia, brought a surprise. Despite the revival of the market and the plans of world industry leaders to intensify business in Russia, the event turned out to be “home” - the lion’s share of the exposition was occupied by the stands of domestic companies

The largest specialized exhibition Bauma CTT Russia 2022 was held for the 19th time, bringing together almost 600 exhibitors and more than 21 thousand specialists, journalists and clients from more than six dozen countries in the Crocus Expo pavilions. The most important forum in the construction equipment market has thus become even more widespread. For comparison, 557 exhibitors from 30 countries attended the same event last year. The revival of the market had an effect: at the end of 2017, sales of construction equipment increased by 45%, production in Russia increased by a quarter, and imports by more than one and a half times. In addition, according to experts, the increase in business activity in the run-up to the World Cup played a role. However, the composition of the exhibition participants has changed compared to the show a year ago - representatives of the Big Seven did not come to the exhibition for various reasons, while Russian and Chinese, on the contrary, increased their presence.

KAMAZ

The Russian manufacturer selected five vehicles from its line that were supposed to be of interest to representatives of the construction industry: two dump trucks (one of them is a coal carrier), a truck tractor and two special vehicles (concrete mixer truck 5814Y7 and an onboard vehicle with a PALFINGER RK 13501 SLD CMU).

A special feature of the KAMAZ-54909 tractor is its plug-in front hydrostatic drive, which can be used at speeds of up to 25 km/h. This will be enough to, for example, get moving in icy conditions.

5814Y7 concrete mixer truck, which holds up to 7 cubic meters. m of mixture, is equipped with a mixing drum drive powered by a diesel engine of the base chassis. The onboard vehicle with a CMU has an aluminum side platform, the load moment is up to 13.1 tm.

GAS

The Gorky Automobile Plant showed visitors special equipment on a chassis with increased load capacity: cars of the GAZelle NEXT 4.6 and GAZon NEXT 10 series, produced since December. "GAZelle NEXT 4.6" is a utility vehicle with a two-row cabin, the platform width is increased by 10 cm. It is equipped with a rear axle of the "spicer" type, the permissible load capacity is up to 2 tons. Using the "GAZON NEXT 10" you can transport up to 5.9 t. The width of the platform of the model is now 2.55 m, the wheelbase has become larger by 635 mm. The car has air suspension on the rear axle.

One of the models is “GAZon NEXT 10” with CMU. Boom radius - up to 9.8 m, lifting capacity - up to 3.2 tons. Solutions to increase reliability: the subframe under the CMU (reinforced) is integral with the platform subframe; Cross-shaped brackets are welded between the subframe spars.

A special place in the exhibition was occupied by the GAZ-SAZ-250711 dump truck with three-way unloading from the Saransk Dump Truck Plant.

VIPO

The desire of AGP manufacturers to create specialized structures for high-altitude work is becoming more and more clearly visible. Thus, the Vitstroytekhmash private unitary enterprise presented the VIPO-56-01 model on the MAZ-6516C9 chassis with an 8x4 wheel arrangement.

The auto-hydraulic lift is a 4-section telescopic boom connected to a rotating frame and three additional bends. The working lifting height is 56 m, the lowering depth is 9 m, the maximum reach is 35 m. The working platform's load capacity of 450 kg allows a team of 4 people with a set of tools to be on it.

A prototype was presented at the exhibition, created using elements of a standard crane installation with a full-fledged operator's cabin. It is expected that in the future the design will be refined and simplified. But the Belarusians want to keep their own name “Titan” for the highest lift in the model range.

URAL

There were three vehicles at the URAL plant stand, including a dump truck and a tractor from a new series for traveling on public roads. Serial production of the equipment (wheel formula - 6x4) will start in the second half of the year. There was also a special vehicle - an AGP on a Ural NEXT SUV.

The total weight of the URAL dump truck is 25 tons (can be increased to 27.5 tons), the body holds 10 or 12 cubic meters.

The truck tractor is used as part of a road train with a gross weight of up to 44 or 62 tons. In the production of the platform (the same applies to the dump truck), a new variable-section frame with 8 mm side members is used, its height is 280 mm. The front buffer is completely metal. For the first time, a cable drive for gearbox control was used on the manufacturer’s equipment.

Luidor-Tuning

Surely you have heard about and know it as a manufacturer of vans. So, recently it is also a manufacturer of aerial platforms!

The first-born of the new model range was a 28-meter auto-hydraulic lift on the GAZ-C41R13 chassis. The machine is a telescopic unit with a front rotating column, which allows the overall overall height to be reduced to 3530 mm. The working platform has a maximum load capacity of 300 kg. Taking into account the fact that even at the maximum boom reach of 16 m, its load capacity is 150 kg, it can accommodate a team of two people with tools.

MAZ

The exposition of the Belarusian plant this year included 7 pieces of equipment: several variants of dump trucks (one of them with a MAZ-856102 trailer), a road train (MAZ-643028 tractor with a MAZ-953003 semi-trailer), as well as a KS-55727 truck crane based on the MAZ-6312S3 .

The number of dump trucks on display included the MAZ-6516Y9 (8x4) with a payload capacity increased to 33 tons (the current maximum for Belarusian-made vehicles). The second model is MAZ-6501S9 with a U-shaped platform, capable of transporting up to 19.5 tons. The third is MAZ-650126 with a U-shaped platform, lifting capacity - 20.5 tons. The equipment is equipped with Cummins, YaMZ and Weichai engines, respectively.

The MAZ-643028 truck tractor has a 6x4 wheel arrangement, the engine is Weichai 430 hp. The rear suspension is reinforced. The total weight of the trailer is up to 65 tons.

Chinese argument

What about ambitious newcomers from the Middle Kingdom? They, apparently, are striving to occupy not only the stands where G7 players exhibited in past years, but also to displace the latter in an increasingly competitive market. An example of movement in this direction is the exhibition of the Dongfeng company. She showed the KC DFH3330A80 dump truck with a 6x4 wheel arrangement and the Dongfeng KR 4x2 medium-duty chassis with a sleeper cab. The first can be used on construction sites, for heavy transport, in public utilities and in the mining industry. These dump trucks are capable of carrying 18 tons of cargo, are easily adapted to perform various tasks and have a reliable and simple design. In turn, the KR DFH5120B80 chassis with a load capacity of 7.5 tons is used as the basis for superstructures and is used in urban and intercity transportation. Both models are equipped with modern engines (Cummins and DCEC) Euro 5 standard.

The representative of Dongfeng Motor Rus, Maxim Pomelov, in a conversation with Avtopanorama, emphasized that the company plans to actively develop in the Russian market. Thus, in 2022, the sales volume of Dongfeng Trucks commercial vehicles in our country reached 85 units, and this year it is planned to at least double this figure. Moreover, the volume could have been larger if not for the delay in certification and installation of the ERA-GLONASS system. In 2018, the company is preparing to introduce an updated family of KC trucks to our market. Dongfeng currently has 18 Russian dealers, and this number will double in the coming year.

Meusburger Novtrak Company

The Novgorod enterprise presented its own products. At the stand there were three low-load semi-trailers, which (depending on the model) are designed to transport from 30 to 80 tons of cargo.

Kurgan Road Machinery Plant

Separately, I would like to note a car that is difficult to find a place in the orderly ranks of dump trucks, “mixers” and KMUs. Meet the vacuum sweeper UKM-2500.

The new development is a compact urban street sweeper with an articulated frame. The length of the baby together with attachments is only 5.75 m, width - 1.7 m. Depending on the task, sweeping, sand-spreading or watering and washing equipment is installed on the machine. The first option was just presented at the exhibition, with a working width of 2.5 m, a bunker for estimates with a capacity of 2 m3 and a water tank of 0.23 m3.

Kogel

The company showed the only exhibit - a Russian-assembled SKM24 semi-trailer. A three-axle modification was demonstrated at the exhibition, but the line also includes a version with two axles. Body volume - 27 and 24 cubic meters. m respectively. The model is equipped with a rear overhang extended by 17 cm and a sliding awning (the drive can be manual or electric).

Kassbohrer

The German manufacturer brought several pieces of its equipment to the exhibition, including those designed specifically for Russian clients. This is, for example, the 16.5-meter curtainside semi-trailer of the K.SCX XXL series, the capacity of which has been increased by 21%. Also at the stand you could see the K.SKS.BS 24-12/27 dump semi-trailer (body volume - 24 cubic meters), the new K.SLL 2 sliding low-loader (allowed to transport heavy loads up to 3,675 mm in height), etc.

The Russian developer of heavy-duty trailers demonstrated two new models of semi-trailers: a model with a detachable gooseneck and front entry, which received the TSP index 94183-0000042-0300, as well as a mid-frame TSP 94183-0000030-0N00. The first semi-trailer has a load capacity of 41 tons. The curb weight has been reduced to 12.1 tons and the coupling/uncoupling process has been simplified (performed in 8 steps). The second model has a mass of 8.8 tons, the permissible weight of transported cargo is up to 30.2 tons, and the ground clearance is 210 mm. If it is necessary to transport particularly high loads, the height of the loading platform can be reduced to 975 mm.

CHMZAP

Another domestic development is the ChMZAP 9520-0000022 PS5V dump semi-trailer for transporting cargo up to 31 tons (new). Features of the model: use of JOST pneumatic units instead of SAF brand products, disc brakes, polyurethane-based paint.

Significant absence

The tone this time was set by the Russian, Kovrov Electromechanical, Tradition-K, as well as the Belarusian MAZ. As for the “Big Freight Seven,” their demonstrative “no show” is not at all connected with skepticism regarding the prospects of the Russian market (quite the opposite), but with intentions to promote their new products on other platforms.

Scania, for example, showed its equipment (including for the construction industry) during an extensive presentation near Moscow on the eve of the opening of Bauma CTT Russia. According to Elizaveta Dementieva, marketing projects manager at Scania-Rus LLC, the presentation format is the most preferable. And the press service of Daimler KamAZ Rus informed us that it was decided to focus on the global event in August, where it is planned to present the entire range of medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks.

In the absence of industry giants, Western and Asian business lines were represented by Hyundai, Kogel, Ammann, Fassi, Haulotte, Hyva, Kobelco, Manitou, Putzmeister, RM Terex, John Deere, Shantui, SDLG and Wirtgen. The oil companies Shell and LUKOIL also presented their new products, and the Rusbusinessavto brand (sales municipal, passenger and road construction equipment) timed its participation in the exhibition to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The focus of the JAC exhibit was the updated N-Series truck line. The vehicles were demonstrated together with special add-ons: Palfinger P180T CMU (the unit was mounted on a JAC N-56 chassis), Chaika-Tadano TM-ZE364HS CMU (based on JAC N-75), etc. A total of seven configuration options were presented.
