Hyundai Porter 2: differences from its predecessor
Like its predecessor, the Hyundai Porter 2 can accommodate about ten cubic meters of any product and can easily cope with overload (within reasonable limits). Only 81 centimeters in height of the loading platform makes loading very convenient and fast. To drive a car, a license with “passenger” category B is sufficient, and entry into any area of the city is not limited for this small truck.
If we compare the truck with the previous version, the Hyundai Porter 2 truck undoubtedly has a much more modern appearance, improved visibility and aerodynamics - thanks to modified headlights, cab, side mirrors and doors. Another important feature that distinguishes both this and the previous version of the machine is the ability to install any body on the chassis, be it a refrigerator or an insulated van, a crane or a compact aerial platform.
Hyundai Porter 2 has changed not only in terms of design. It has become more powerful: a 133-horsepower diesel engine instead of the previous 80-horsepower; stronger: 1000 kg of standard, and 1300 kg of real load capacity instead of the previous 950 kg; more comfortable to use: all windows and rear-view mirrors have been enlarged, door openings have become wider, the cabin roof is higher, and the seats are more comfortable.

Hyundai Porter 2 began production in 2004 in Korea, but almost every year this model received new improvements and was refined. As before, this is an ideal option for a compact light-duty truck capable of performing tasks within large cities. Thanks to its modest overall dimensions, this car maneuvers in dense city traffic no worse than passenger cars.
This truck model can be used for various purposes, because... The buyer has several body options to choose from - a van, a flatbed truck, a flatbed chassis with an awning and various superstructures. Regardless of the choice of chassis, the car demonstrates the same high performance characteristics. This truck is also distinguished by its build quality. A reliable frame structure welded from high-strength steel guarantees the strength and durability of the vehicle. Thanks to the low base of the body, loading and unloading operations are greatly facilitated.
The interior of the second generation Porter has undergone a huge number of changes, most of which not only improved the interior, but also increased functionality. Ease of control and safety of the driver and passengers is ensured through the use of the following systems and equipment - power steering, electric windows, heated rear-view mirrors, air conditioning, etc. The cabin can comfortably accommodate three people. Of course, this car is not designed for long trips with three people, but within the city limits such an opportunity may well be realized.
Like all other commercial vehicles of the Korean manufacturer, the Hyundai Porter 2 is traditionally equipped with a turbocharged diesel engine. The 133-horsepower power unit used in this model, coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox, ensures economical fuel consumption - about 10 liters per 100 km. The box works clearly and smoothly, the gearbox ratios are selected most successfully.
The suspension consists of shock absorbers at the front and dependent springs at the rear. A fairly high ground clearance, as well as a smooth suspension, ensure the truck’s high cross-country ability on road sections with poor or no pavement. The truck's noise insulation is at the highest level - virtually no sounds penetrate inside the cabin, despite the fact that the vehicle is equipped with a diesel engine. When the body is fully loaded, the car behaves dynamically and predictably, both on city streets and on expressways.
TTM-Center is the official dealer of Hyundai. That is why we offer to buy second generation Hyundai Porter cars at a favorable dealer price. On the Hyundai Porter 2 chassis we install additional. equipment, a new van or refrigerator, we offer service maintenance, we will solve all repair issues and have a full catalog of original spare parts. This “Korean” is an ideal choice for owners of any business in the field of cargo transportation.
The most important advantages of the Hyundai Porter An ideal car for city transportation. It is able to effectively perform its work in dense traffic conditions, and has excellent maneuverability, transporting any cargo. An impressive model range allows you to choose the truck with the configuration you need: a chassis, an all-metal body with a van or an all-metal flatbed body with an awning. Any of the selected modifications is a hard worker, ideal for daily use in urban conditions.
The next important advantage is the assembly of impeccable quality. At the heart of the car is a harmonious duet, consisting of a chassis on a steel multi-section frame of high rigidity, and a spacious three-seater cabin. Access to the engine is possible from the cabin itself, and high-quality steel guarantees stable and trouble-free operation of the car for many years. The foresight of the Koreans was manifested in the Hyundai Porter in its low loading height, which makes loading and unloading cargo as easy and simple as possible.
Comfort is another undeniable plus of the Hyundai Porter. The test drive convincingly showed the high level of comfort of this truck. Considering that many drivers have to spend many hours in a row behind the steering wheel, this quality is important.
The basic equipment of all Hyundai Porter trucks includes a five-speed manual transmission and a turbodiesel engine. This combination ensures economical fuel consumption: an average of 10-11 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km is sufficient. Clear and at the same time soft gear shifting is characteristic of every car from the Hyundai Porter model range. Reliable and pleasant in all respects, Hyundai Porter always meets all your expectations.

Design Features
At first glance, the car looks a little unusual - due to the small rear wheels installed in wide arches. They are smaller in diameter than the front ones, which at first causes some dissonance in the appearance of the Hyundai Porter 2. On the technical side, the use of different wheels makes it possible to increase the transmission ratio and makes the truck less susceptible to load.
With double cabin.
Since the front and rear wheels are of different diameters, the car has 2 spare tires. When buying a used truck, you should pay attention to the degree of wear and tear. After all, there are no domestic tires with such parameters (155/R12C) (at least not yet), and imported ones are not cheap. Newer Hyundai Porter 2 also comes with thirteen-inch rear wheels. The all-wheel drive version of the Hyundai Porter 2 (there is one) differs from the rear-wheel drive version by a shortened wheelbase, single-pitch rather than dual-pitch tires on the rear axle, and the same wheel size on the axles – 195R15C.
Like its predecessor, the basis of the car is a reliable frame structure. It is a layout with a more spacious than before, three-seater cabin located above the engine, and a chassis on a rigid steel multi-section frame. You can get to the engine directly from the cabin by reclining and locking the passenger seat.
Engine and transmission
Hyundai Porter 2 is equipped with an in-line four-cylinder diesel engine with direct injection and turbocharging; engine model – Hyundai D4CB 2.5 CRDI. This is not a new development, but rather well-tested by time. The motor has been produced since 2001. After restyling, both the Porter II and its analogue, the Kia Bongo III truck, are equipped with it. In addition to compact commercial vehicles for cargo transportation, they were equipped with Hyundai H1 minibuses (from 2003 to 2007); Kia Sorento SUVs (from 2002 to 2009). The Hyundai D4CB engine has undergone three upgrades that have improved its efficiency and environmental friendliness. Currently - up to Euro-5, and without the use of the AdBlue reagent.
This engine is equipped with a 16-valve cylinder head. The D4CB cylinder head is made of aluminum alloy, the cylinder head is cast iron, the valves are steel, hardened. The crankshaft of the D4CB 2.5 CRDI engine is steel, having five main and four connecting rod journals.

Reviews from owners and drivers
Owners and drivers speak positively about the capabilities of the Hyundai Porter 2 engine. It pulls, clearly and stably, without failures, and works even at full load and overload. The truck accelerates confidently and does not lose power when driving uphill. The turbine is connected at 1800-2000 rpm. Although, in principle, even without it the car moves freely and well.
The suspension is soft and comfortable, and handles minor unevenness on city asphalt roads well. Although when the body is empty or lightly loaded, swaying appears on potholes, the car begins to “goat.” Also, in strong winds, and when driving around with trucks, you sometimes have to “catch” it: the van noticeably “sails.”
Both the air conditioning and heater work very well, quickly establishing the desired cabin climate. The cabin is a bit cramped only for tall or obese people. These people have to adapt to working in it. For the average driver, driving a Hyundai Porter 2 is as comfortable as in the cabin of an economy-class foreign car, and the driving characteristics are practically no different from those of a passenger car.
The truck is very maneuverable, “ubiquitous” in the cramped conditions of a metropolis. Despite the low ground clearance, it is capable of climbing the curb if necessary. Drivers like the car to run out. That is, when at normal speed you turn off the gear, and it coasts - softly, smoothly, without braking. Efficiency is excellent: diesel fuel consumption does not differ from the indicators declared by the manufacturer, and can even be less than them.
Many owners point to the poor quality paint job of Hyundai Porter 2 car cabins and poor corrosion protection. This is indirectly confirmed by the article “Trucks: Labor Exchange” in the authoritative magazine “Behind the Wheel” (November 2013). This material compared the parameters and capabilities of the Hyundai Porter 2, Renault Master and Mercedes Sprinter. And the thinnest paint layer was found in Porter 2: from 97 to 123 microns.
