The instrument panel is one of the most important spaces of any vehicle, since not only the ease of use of the controls, but also the safety of road users depends on its design and ergonomics. For example, buttons allow you to work with a trailer, adjust headlights, check lighting equipment, set up adaptive cruise control, adjust the floor level and much more.
In the new DAF showrooms, the dashboards are distinguished by their ease of use, wide range of capabilities and visual appeal. The controls are divided into functional groups, and the new font and clear style allow you to use them with ease and efficiency, solving various problems while driving. The adjustable multifunction steering wheel, equipped with many switches located in close proximity to the hands, provides a comfortable fit and confident control.
Every person driving a multi-ton tractor while traveling long distances needs rest and sound sleep. Spacious sleeping areas (up to 220 centimeters) allow the driver and his assistant to get good rest. It is worth noting that the area under the lower berth is equipped with additional thermal insulation, eliminating the appearance of cold spots. Near the bed there is often a reading lamp, a window, a bedside table, a power socket and storage drawers.
The Dutch truck manufacturer has provided many options for adapting the truck's interior, both to the needs of a specific application and to the personal preferences of the driver.
Materials
The interior of tractor cabs from DAF Trucks is distinguished by a number of solutions:
- high-quality modern materials (textiles, soft plastic and genuine leather);
- nice color schemes;
- elegant decorative elements (wood, gloss black or silver);
- Stylish ventilation openings with aluminum trim.
Mattresses can be made of foam and equipped with additional pads, which are responsible for optimal ventilation and maintaining a comfortable microclimate. Spring mattresses are also available that have passed a series of tests and have TNO quality certificates. In addition, proper upholstery of the truck interior contributes to a good rest.
Thick double-layer curtains located on the windshield and doors can reliably prevent sunlight from entering the cabin. Also, the sleeping places can be additionally hidden by a central curtain.
DAF CF cab
As we can see, the CF series has three cab modifications - Day, Sleeper and Space Cab. Let's take a closer look.
It is clear that in order to install a sleeping bag, you need to increase the length of the cabin, and in order to install another berth, you need to increase the height.
Now the dimensions are on top.
It is worth mentioning that naturally this series is divided into subseries CF65, 75 and 85. The basic package includes some options that are additional in the LF series. For example:

Electronics
The intelligent electronic system and the new architecture of DAF vehicles make it possible to select the location of some switches depending on needs and personal preferences. The latest energy-efficient climate control system allows you to control the functions of parking ventilation, window defogger, automatic air recirculation inside the truck cabin and heating at night.
The electronics are made at the highest level:
- new ECU integrated with transmission;
- interactive program for training and assistance;
- a complete package of navigation devices;
- powerful audio system with 6 speakers;
- Innovative switch for controlling interior lighting.
As a result, DAF CF, XF and LF cabs offer unrivaled levels of comfort, advanced electronics, stylish design and plenty of optimized interior space.
Brand new DAF XG and XG+ added to Euro Truck Simulator 2
Two weeks ago, we published some images from Euro Truck Simulator 2 of the upcoming truck, wrapped in camouflage.
We hope you had as much fun guessing (though it was pretty obvious) as we did creating the special livery. Today we are proud and excited to present to you, just one day after the official reveal of the new generation of DAF trucks, these trucks in the game. DAF XG and XG+
The new generation DAF represents a new era in freight transport. As DAF says: Start the future. The new line of trucks places special emphasis on efficiency, driver comfort and safety. The new XG and XG+ cab are another revolution since the previous DAF cab was introduced in its earliest form on the DAF 95 back in 1987. DAF is literally reinventing the game with the XG/XG+, being the first to market with its new super-sized cabs, made possible by reformed EU weight and dimension law which allows truck cab lengths to be extended to 80cm.
A more rounded and longer front overhang not only improves fuel economy, but also improves driver safety in the event of a frontal collision. The increased cabin space also allows for a wider bunk and a more spacious driver's position.
New to Euro Truck Simulator 2 is the introduction of optional digital mirrors, replacing the conventional side, wide-angle and front mirrors. These mirrors improve side visibility by replacing the traditional mirrors that typically create blind spots at roundabouts with displays that are neatly placed on the inside A-pillar. The mirrors also have exposure compensation for better visibility at night.
Another new feature for Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the new DAF is the fully digital instrument panel, or Driver Information Panel (DIP) as DAF calls it. DIP features modern graphics and a unique design that is sure to set the truck apart from the competition and make your driving experience more interesting and informative.
The new generation DAF is initially available in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with XG and XG+ cab variants, with the XF coming at a later date. For now, only the 4x2 chassis variant will be available, just like the trucks initially offered to customers.
Last but not least, we've also added a special paint job for the new trucks to match the Tuscan Yellow color you should definitely use!

DAF XF cab
As we remember from the review article on DAF cars and spare parts, there are three reincarnations of this series, plus one transitional one. Transitional 95XF - 1997-2002, 2002-06 - XF95, 2006-2012 XF105 and 2013-... - XF106.
The XF95 and XF105 were produced with two types of cabs: Space Cab and Super Space Cab, while the 95XF and XF106 also have a Comfort Cab.
As you can see the difference in height.
Also in the 105 series, limited and special edition versions of cars were released:
- Space Cab ATe (Advanced Transport Efficiency)
- White Edition
- Blue Edition
etc., for different countries and with minor modifications.
I don’t want to do any advertising at all, but there is quite a lot of space and it’s comfortable.

The daf engine: XE, XF or Paccar MX has certain dimensions and we present to your attention a table of the combination of cabs and engines.

Design
The design of the DAF XF 95 fully corresponds to the purpose of the car. The main emphasis in all versions of the model is on functionality and reliability. All details have their purpose, there are no additional image parameters. This is understandable, since this is a specialized machine, not designed for everyday use by the general consumer.
Exterior
Almost all DAF 95 XF models are classic white and equipped with a large cabover cab. There is a radiator grille in front. Also, the first thing that catches your eye is the bumper with the brand logo. Headlights, mirrors - all this is made in a laconic style and is large in size.
Unlike outdated domestic analogues, the model is equipped with a convenient ladder, which makes it easy to get into the cabin. Also considered an additional distinctive feature are locks that provide increased security and protect against unauthorized intrusion into the car.
The large front glass provides excellent visibility while moving. There are special steps on the front grille that make cleaning the windshield much easier.
Interior
The advantage of the model's interior is its functional practicality. While operating the DAF XF95, you can appreciate the delights of Euro standards. This is the real dream of every truck driver who is forced to spend a long time in the cab.
It is so spacious that it is suitable as an alternative to a bedroom.
There are 2 large shelves behind the rear seats. There is also a compartment underneath for storing things. But if desired, it can easily be converted to accommodate built-in household appliances (microwave or refrigerator).
The height is 188.5 cm, but it is better to choose the Super cab version, which has a height of 225.5 cm.
Otherwise, the inside of the car is arranged as practical as possible: the dashboard contains everything you need, the seats and steering wheel are height adjustable.
