In the driver's cabin you can find many incomprehensible devices, the purpose of which must be explained for the correct operation of the vehicle. Each of these devices is located on a special panel, which folds back and is located on the left side of the panel.

Possible malfunctions and ways to eliminate them

- The next time you start the engine, the red indicators on the panel should go out. Only one red lamp should be on. It is responsible for the value of the handbrake. By tightening and releasing the handbrake, you can check the performance of this indicator.
- After a few seconds - from 15 to 20 - the engine can be turned off and the ignition, on the contrary, turned on. - the nozzle stopped working;
- sensors show erroneous values;
- various control mechanisms stopped responding.
Among other things, one option is to use the engine cigarette lighter incorrectly. If the cigarette lighter is used incorrectly, the engine may not start in the future and will have to be replaced.

The placement of controls in the cockpit is shown in Fig. 1.8. A steering wheel is mounted in front of the driver on a tilted steering column in such a way as to ensure convenient viewing of the instruments and warning devices of the instrument panel. On the steering column under the steering wheel there is a combination switch, which consists of light switches, a turn signal switch and two horn switches. On the cabin floor under the steering column there is a button for the auxiliary brake control valve. The overhead clutch pedal is located to the left of the steering column. The service brake pedal and fuel control pedal are located to the right of the steering column.

The gearbox remote control lever is located to the right of the driver's seat. To the right of the seat there is also the head 9 of the engine stop lever cable, the handle of the cable for manual control of the fuel supply, and the handle for the parking and emergency brake control valve.
The location of instrumentation and controls for special equipment on the panel in front of the driver is shown in Fig. 1.7, a, b.
All control and measuring instruments are located on the instrument panel (see Fig. 1.7, 6) on the left side of the instrument panel. In the middle part of the panel there are key switches (Fig. 1.7, a), an ashtray, and a folding fuse panel. Somewhat lower are the valve lever for the tire pressure regulation system and the button for remotely turning off the batteries. There is a glove box on the right side of the panel. A pre-heater fuse and a pre-heater switch are located under the glove box.
