Elements of the MAZ instrument panel

The panel designations and its structure may vary slightly depending on the vehicle modification.

However, every vehicle must have:

• MAZ speedometer - a device for determining driving speed;
• Tachometer – shows the crankshaft speed of the power unit;
• Alarms that transmit data about the emergency or extreme state of systems;
• Pressure indicator showing the indicator not in critical, but in normal mode;
• Blocks of control and signal lamps, allowing to distinguish between activated and switched off equipment;
• Switches for individual systems.

The MAZ 5440 panel differs from the equipment of trucks of other brands by the presence of an electric speedometer. It uses not a traditional flexible cable, but an electric drive.

Features of the MAZ shield

The MAZ 544 instrument panel is designed in such a way that the driver quickly receives up-to-date information about the operation of the heater, cross-axle differential, heater and other devices.

The icons on the MAZ panel allow you to timely check the equipment, identify faults and, if necessary, make repairs or replace components.

The tachometer scale on the MAZ 5440 panel has several zones:

• Solid green serves as the optimal range of engine operation in economy mode;
• Intermittent green complements such a range;
• Solid red refers to the crankshaft speed at which the power unit is not allowed to operate;
• Intermittent red indicates that the engine can operate in this mode for a short time.

Some tachometer models are equipped with a counter for the total revolutions of the engine crankshaft. In the description of the MAZ panel, special attention is paid to the button for the remote battery switch. After they are turned off, the arrow indicates the voltage of the on-board network.

When parking, it is necessary to turn off the batteries, and in case of emergency, turning off allows you to reduce the number of electricity consumers.
