EO-4225 is a full-rotary hydraulic universal excavator with crawler tracks. The equipment is intended for the development of soils belonging to categories I-IV and having a debris size of up to 400 mm. The excavator is actively used in the development of open mines, pits, trenches and when loading bulk materials.
The production of EO-4225 is carried out by an excavator. The company is considered one of the largest domestic manufacturers of earthmoving equipment. The plant has a 30% share in the total production of equipment among Russian brands, producing up to 1,000 units of excavators annually.
EO-4225 has undergone major modernization several times. In 1995, he introduced the EO-4225A series, which received significant changes. The model turned out to be very successful and received several awards at international exhibitions.
In 1999, production of the EO-4225A-07 modification began, differing from its predecessors in improved technical parameters and a modified design. Currently, it produces this particular model, offering nine different types of attachments for it.

The majority of operators and operators of excavators of this model speak positively about them - as tough and durable earthmoving machines that can work for a long time in the most difficult conditions. The design of the base chassis is characterized by low impact on the ground. Even with a minimum track width of 60 cm, this allows the excavator to be used even on complex and viscous soils. This is facilitated by both high ground clearance and an impressive movement angle of 35º.
The functioning of the working mechanisms is ensured by a hydraulic system using a reinforced hydraulic hose and driven by a power unit. The maximum unloading height of 5.15 m is quite sufficient for loading operations in conjunction with most models of trucks or railway cars.
The cabin of the E0-4225 excavator is safe, well heat- and sound-insulated, with good visibility, equipped with a powerful heater, and, upon additional request, air conditioning. The operator's cabin is located on the same platform as the equipment. The workplace is equipped with a modern and comfortable chair that can be adjusted.
The excavator is widely used for digging trenches and pits; it can also be used for cleaning ponds and reservoirs. Thanks to the large track width, this equipment is able to move freely on swampy or loose soil.
Experienced operators of E0-4225 excavators talk about the following typical malfunctions of these special vehicles. When the excavator moves, its platform may spontaneously turn. If at the same time the boom hydraulics had to be engaged, the rotation speed would slow down. The cause of the breakdown lies in the working fluid distributor, inside of which the springs and spools wear out. After replacing these parts, the functionality of the excavator is restored.
Occasionally, problems arise with the operation of the power unit, which stalls when a load is applied. The cause of this malfunction is a clogged filter. To continue operation without repairs, it was necessary to supply diesel fuel directly - from a canister to the booster pump of the high-pressure fuel pump.
After the end of production of EO-4225 and the closure of the Kovrov Excavator Plant, experts do not recommend purchasing special vehicles of this model on the secondary market: there is a high probability that it will be difficult to find spare parts. But in the end, it all depends on the price and technical condition of a particular excavator.
