Like most models of the Japanese brand, Komatsu 375 is equipped with a wide range of additional equipment. This ensures year-round use of the bulldozer and increases its profitability. The Komatsu D375A combines optimal weight distribution, robust design and high performance. This is facilitated by high-quality elements, most of which are the Japanese brand’s own development.
The Komatsu 375 bulldozer is used in many countries around the world. In the CIS countries, the model gained the greatest popularity in the North-Eastern regions of Russia. The main gold mining enterprises are located here, performing large volumes of excavation work. To function effectively, they need special equipment of this class. These organizations account for up to 70% of the entire fleet of Komatsu D375A bulldozers operated in the North-East of Russia. A reliable and powerful bulldozer with advanced technical capabilities is optimally suited for these areas.
Among the advantages of the Komatsu 375 model are:
- unusually low profile, ensuring maximum stability of the equipment on any surface;
- economical and environmentally friendly Komatsu SA6D170E engine with a built-in cooling system and a power of 535 hp;
- easy maintenance due to good protection of all hydraulic pipelines, modular design of the power transmission and grouping of key components;
- large blade;
- single-tooth ripper with an adjustable ripping angle;
- good grip on the ground, which is achieved through the K-shaped carriage system;
- disc brakes that do not require additional maintenance.

New generation of bulldozers D375A KOMATSU
KOMATSU, in accordance with the modernization program for its bulldozers, has released a new generation model D-375A series 3 in the weight class of 70 tons. The new model is 1.5 tons heavier than its predecessor D 375A-2. Improvements affected the engine and cab mountings, chassis system, working parts, control system, etc.
The D 375A-3 bulldozer is equipped with a low-emission KOMATSU SA6D170E engine, which has direct injection and turbocharging with subsequent cooling to save fuel. The engine power is 392 kW at a rotation speed of 1800 min-1, and the torque is 267 kg m. To reduce noise and vibration levels, the engine is mounted on the main frame on rubber shock absorbers. When operating at an altitude of up to 3 thousand meters above sea level, no change in fuel supply adjustment is required.
At second speed, the engine allows you to develop a tractive force of 54 tons, which characterizes the bulldozer as a powerful productive machine, perfect for mechanical loosening and moving rock mass. High productivity is also achieved thanks to the installation of more powerful dumps with increased (by 6-7%) capacity, which is 18.5 m3 for a hemispherical blade, and 22 m3 for a spherical one.
In order to increase the maximum filling of the blade and increase the productivity of the bulldozer, the optimal cutting angle of the blade is selected during operation depending on the type of rocks and the slope of the seams being mined. Compared to a conventional blade rotation system, the rotation speed and installation angle on the new model are 2 times higher.
To effectively move non-cohesive rocks over long distances when increased power is required, the LOCKUP automatic locking system is used, which allows you to automatically turn on and off the torque converter depending on the speed of rotation of its shaft.
The new elastic balanced undercarriage system REU (Resilient equalized undercarriage), including an x-shaped swing suspension of road wheels with rubber cushions, provides excellent traction of the track shoes with uneven ground surfaces, and also reduces vibration and dynamic impact from impacts when hitting rocks. Rubber shoes always follow the contours of the ground. When moving the machine on a flat surface, the running trolley functions like a regular trolley with a rigid frame - x-shaped suspensions do not have softening properties due to the low compression of the rubber cushions. When moving a bulldozer over an uneven surface, rubber cushions are subjected to strong compression during shock loading, reducing its impact on the suspension. As a result, the durability of parts increases and the operator’s comfort during work improves.
Thanks to the low engine location and low chassis, the new bulldozer has greater dynamic stability.
The machine is controlled while moving using one lever (joystick), unlike the old model, which used two levers - one to control the turn, the other to control the speed and direction. To facilitate the driver's working conditions and reduce his efforts on the blade control lever, a proportional pressure control system in the hydraulic system (PPC) is used. On the new model D-375A-3, the forces on the controls are reduced by 2.2-2.3 times.
The new hexagonal cab design provides excellent visibility - a viewing area 5% larger than the D-375A-2. The operator's seat can be rotated and locked in two positions. This allows the operator to set the seat for better visibility and perform loosening work without getting up from the seat. As a result, the driver of the D-375A-3 bulldozer has a better (3%) view of the ripper than on the previous model.
Air filters are installed to prevent dust from entering the cabin, and excess pressure is created inside it.
The cabin is installed on three shock absorbers, and not on rubber cushions like the D-375A-2 bulldozer. Together with the REU elastic track roller suspension system, this reduces vibration levels (by 5%) and noise.
For simplified and convenient servicing, the transmission and torque converter filters are located near the transmission oil level indicator, and quick connects for measuring hydraulic pressure are centralized on a separate panel. The tiltable radiator makes it easy to clean. The hydraulic system pipeline of the blade rotation cylinders is protected from external damage due to the fact that it is completely located in the bulldozer frame.
The unique modular design of the transmission allows parts to be replaced without losing hydraulic fluid.
The new bulldozer has an improved system for monitoring the condition of the machine’s components and assemblies, which allows faults to be identified at an early stage and emergency situations to be prevented. Deviations are recorded on a liquid crystal monitor panel located in the driver’s cab.
Bulldozers branded D-375A KOMATSU operate in many regions of the world. The largest market in the CIS for these machines is the North-Eastern regions of Russia, where the main Russian gold mining enterprises are concentrated, where half of the country's annual gold production is mined. Most of the enterprises are part of the three largest companies - Severovostokzoloto in the Magadan region, as well as Aldanzoloto and Indigirzoloto in the Yakutia-Sakha Republic. These companies account for 70% of the fleet of all D-375A bulldozers operating in the Northeast of the country.
The Severostokzoloto company and the KOMATSU company have been cooperating since 1972, when the company received an experimental model of the D-355A bulldozer in the northern version. Currently, the company's bulldozer fleet consists of 36 D-375A machines of the first and second generation. The first D-375A-1s were delivered in 1987, followed by the D-375A-2s in late 1990. All machines are still in working order.
Working conditions are extremely difficult - in winter the air temperature drops below -50°C, and the soil is permafrost. Starting a bulldozer engine at this temperature requires a lot of effort and time. To maintain normal operation of the bulldozer, parts and components in the northern version are used - a heater, a radiator fan with rotation in two directions, a heated cabin with double glazing.
Despite the harsh conditions, bulldozers work around the clock. The annual working time of each of them exceeds 5 thousand hours. Manufacturers appreciated the superiority of KOMATSU machines, and therefore the Severostokzoloto company purchased eight more D-375A bulldozers in 1996.

Low maintenance costs
New track link design
The new
D375A-5
links retain the pins in the bushing due to a tight pin fit and a wedge-shaped retaining ring. On a conventional track, the fingers are held in the bushing only due to a tight fit, carried out with a large pressing force. On new links, this force is divided into the holding force of the locking ring and the tension force. This makes link maintenance and pin damage easier by making it easier to separate the pins and bushings. The result is increased undercarriage life and reduced maintenance costs through reduced link wear, pin reuse, and reduced pin and bushing installation labor.

DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
Komatsu D375A-5 is a heavy crawler-type bulldozer that combines a reliable design, a comfortable cabin and excellent performance. The model belongs to the weight category “70 tons”. Production of the Komatsu D375A-5 lasted from 1993 to 2009. This bulldozer has become widespread on the Russian market.
A wide range of additional equipment is available for the Komatsu D375A-5, allowing you to use the machine all year round. Due to this, high profitability is achieved. High-quality Japanese elements and thoughtful design provide a long service life.
Komatsu D375A-5 is used to perform various tasks in the areas of the national economy and industry:
- moving large volumes of materials and soil over short distances;
- soil removal;
- uprooting trees and stumps;
- filling in depressions and erecting dams and dams;
- surface leveling;
- creation of dirt roads;
- profiling of embankments.
The bulldozer is used in a different temperature range (from -40 to +40 degrees).
Chassis
The transmission of the Komatsu D375A-5 crawler bulldozer is Torqflow, of our own production. Equipped with a gear shift lock lever and a neutral position lock disabling function.
In this model of crawler bulldozer, compared to its predecessors, the vertical displacement of the road wheels has increased, due to which the chassis has become more resistant to the perception of shock loads, and its service life has increased significantly.
Caterpillars have a special type of fastening of tracks (links). The classic track fastening using a pin and bushing is complemented by a locking ring, which has practically reduced the likelihood of accidental disintegration of the track to zero, but has simplified the separation of the tracks when dismantling the system for repairs.

Modifications
The equipment is equipped with a reliable hydromechanical gearbox. It's called TorkFlow. The operator controls the equipment using a small joystick with many functions. It changes the speed level and direction of movement of special vehicles.
If we compare Komatsu modifications with other famous brands, the smooth turning of this bulldozer is much better than other models. Engineers have achieved improvements in handling by installing a passive track braking system.
The advantage of the D375A-3 and D375A-5 modifications is that the transmission is quite easy to maintain. All components and other attachments can be replaced without losing a drop of hydraulic oil. And this can be considered a big plus, since repair work in such vehicles constantly requires a complete replacement of the fluid.
It's also fairly easy to check and replace the transmission filter and hydraulic transformer.
For example, the Komatsu D375A-5 series modification is equipped with a new REU chassis system. It is characterized by unique elasticity. The track rollers are mounted on an oscillating suspension and rubber cushions. This allows the shoes to grip well on any type of soil. An additional advantage is that such a chassis reduces vibrations to a minimum. On high-quality road surfaces, the X configuration suspension behaves very softly due to the fact that the cushions have a low compression ratio. And when the bulldozer drives onto the ground, rubber components significantly reduce the impact load. Due to this design solution, the service life of the suspension as a whole has become significantly longer.
In addition, you can often find the D375A-6 package.
Hydraulics
Hydraulic cylinders KOMATSU D375A-5
The hydraulics of the Komatsu crawler bulldozer of this modification have a maximum flow level of 405 liters per minute. Hydraulic cylinders are piston, double acting.
A volume of 120 liters of fluid is allocated to control the front blade. A single-shank ripper requires 70 liters, and various versions of a multi-shank ripper require 44 to 70 liters. The fixed angle mechanism requires less volume of special fluid. To change the angle of the ripper, a system with a hydraulic finger is used. The multi-tooth (multi-post) version is controlled by a parallelogram hydraulic drive using a lever system.
The torque converter is located next to the main elements of the transmission to simplify access to both mechanisms.
The total weight of the valve body without fluid is 11.79 tons. All elements of the system were developed and manufactured in-house by Komatsu.

K-carriage system
The new chassis, equipped with K-shaped carriages, while maintaining the advantages of the previous design, has new advantages.
Characteristics of the chassis of the previous design:
- The caterpillar tracks have a sufficient length of the supporting surface. Shoe slippage is minimized, resulting in reliable traction.
- The idler wheel does not wobble under load, providing excellent machine stability. The force on the blade and ripper remains unchanged, which increases productivity.
New properties of the running gear with K-shaped carriages:
- The K-carriages swing on two supports, and the vertical displacement of the track rollers has increased significantly. Due to the constant contact of the track rollers with the caterpillar belt, shock loads on all components of the chassis are reduced and, accordingly, their service life is increased.
- The durability of the undercarriage has increased due to improved control of the alignment of the caterpillar track with the road wheels.
- Operator comfort has increased while the machine is moving by reducing vibration and softening shocks when moving over uneven terrain.
