Full-size tractors are not always suitable for cultivating small agricultural lands. Here you can get by with more compact equipment. For example, such as the mini-ractor Rusich. This is the brainchild of Ural manufacturing companies, manufactured in cooperation with Chinese factories. At its core, this machine is versatile and inexpensive, making it widely used in the agricultural sector.

General description of the mini tractor Rusich T-15

The Rusich T-15 minitractor is equipped with a simple single-cylinder diesel engine with a flywheel. The power of this engine is 15 horsepower. The wheel formula of this mini tractor is 4x2. The manual gearbox has three forward speeds, plus the same number in the downshift range; and reverse speed plus one more additional one - in “lower”. The tractor track can be adjusted by rearranging the wheels.

Rusich T-15 is equipped with a differential lock function and a two-section hydraulic distributor with floating mode. It is equipped with rear view mirrors, front and rear fenders, oil pressure gauge, coolant temperature gauge and ammeter, reinforced rear axle. To paint all metal surfaces of mini tractor parts, the Sintai factories use special paint for humid climates, with an anti-corrosion protection effect.

The overall dimensions of the Rusich T-15 minitractor are as follows: length - 2.4 meters, width - 1.35 meters, height - 1.3 meters. Structural weight – 600 kilograms. Ground clearance is 270 mm. Track width - 1050 or 1300 mm (changeable in these two positions).

Engine of the Rusich T-15 minitractor

The minitractor is equipped with a single-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine model R15ND. The working volume of this engine is 709 cubic centimeters. It is extremely economical, consuming very little fuel. This efficiency is achieved, among other things, by efficient combustion of diesel fuel, which allows it to extract about 45-50 percent of energy from the same volume of burned diesel fuel, compared to thirty percent - the figure for a gasoline engine. And its simple, elementary design greatly simplifies operating and maintenance conditions. Diesel fuel consumption per hour is 255 g/kW/h.

Most owners of Rusich T-15 mini tractors note that they did not have any problems with the R15ND engine during the entire period of operation of this equipment. As a rule, it is extremely reliable and durable. The main parts of the engine - crankshaft, cylinder, piston, flywheel - are made of durable alloys, which provide a high level of reliability and an exceptionally long service life. Thanks to the torque of this engine at low speeds, the diesel engine operates in a gentle mode, preventing increased friction and premature wear of its components. The cooling system of this engine is liquid.

The coolant tank, as well as the six-liter diesel fuel tank, is located under the hood, just behind the dashboard. The hood tilts forward for refilling tanks, performing routine repairs and servicing the diesel engine. The engine is started by an electric starter, and if something happens (for example, the battery is dead) - by a manual starter handle.

This motor is absolutely unpretentious to the quality of diesel fuel and is practically omnivorous. Diesel fuel of any brand is suitable for refueling it. The brand of engine oil for refueling the engine and transmission is 75W90 or 80W90.

The muffler of the Rusich T-15 minitractor is initially, in the basic configuration, brought downwards, and exhaust gases are ejected under the wheels. As an additional option, it is possible to move the exhaust system to remove harmful gases from the engine during operation to the top. The vertical muffler is fire-resistant: it eliminates the possibility of dry grass igniting from an accidental spark, reduces noise, and slightly increases ground clearance compared to the lower location of the muffler.

Transmission of the Rusich T-15 minitractor

The design of the mini tractor of this model uses a manual gearbox with a separate differential lock for each wheel. It has three forward and one reverse speeds in each row (in high and low gears). As a result, the owner gets six forward speeds and two reverse speeds. This extended gear range allows the machine operator to select the optimal speed and traction mode for movement, as well as balance the load and traction force of the mini tractor when cultivating soil of varying densities, or when transporting various loads on a trailed cart.

The type of clutch installed on this mini tractor is dry, single-disc.

Torque is transmitted from the engine to the wheels via a belt drive.

The Rusich T-15 minitractor has the ability to block any of the drive wheels. To activate this desired function, a separate lever on the gearbox is used. Differential locking provides increased maneuverability, makes the turning radius as small as possible (almost in one place), reduces tire wear when driving on roads, and also avoids slipping when cultivating soil.

Electrical equipment of the Rusich T-15 minitractor

The R15ND engine is equipped with an electric starter and a generator, which in terms of its operating efficiency is not inferior to modern automobile analogues. The battery, however, on this tractor is quite weak - a motorcycle one, and it runs out quite quickly, especially in cold weather. Therefore, it is very important to turn off the “ground” lever after finishing work, and also to have in your household an ordinary mains battery charger that operates from a 220 Volt outlet. If something happens, the presence of a decompression valve allows, if necessary, to start the T-15 minitractor with a “crooked starter”.

Owner reviews

Victor, Smolensk:

“This equipment is worth taking at least because of the number of attachments! Grab what you want! During the seasons, I regularly use a mower, hiller, cutters, and a constant companion around the village is a trailer. A minitractor replaces everything for me, including a car if I drive in a village near my dacha: I used it to go to the store, collect potatoes, transport raw materials for feed, and humus. The car is decent, and most importantly, it has the power and potential to handle any load. For a dacha, a large field - just right.”

Frame. Chassis: adjustable track and drive axle

The reinforced frame and chassis design make it possible to significantly increase the maximum load of the tractor. The seams are additionally processed by welding on top, which provides a guarantee of absence of defects. When using the maximum intended track, the drive axle and frame of the Rusich T-15 minitractor retain a margin of safety due to the use of high-strength alloys in these components, which allow the operation of this agricultural machinery even in the most difficult conditions.

Both the rear and front tracks on the Rusich T-15 minitractor can be adjusted. When the track is set to 1050 mm, the minitractor is characterized by increased maneuverability. When setting the track to 1300 mm, Rusich T-15 is ideal for row processing of crops. You can quickly and easily adjust the track yourself, thanks to the elongated shafts and universal hubs specially designed in the tractor design.

So that the minitractor can easily and without slipping ride on different types of working surfaces, the Rusich T-15 is equipped with wide wheels. The diameter of the rear wheels is 16 inches (7.50-16), and the front wheels are 12 inches (5.00-12). Such characteristics help the minitractor to have fairly reliable grip on the surface and transport heavy loads without the slightest fear.

Braking system type – disc brake, separate for each wheel.

Service

Before each ride on the Fighter T 15, be sure to check the engine oil and fuel levels (add if necessary). It is recommended to use the M-10G2 brand. Also, you need to make sure that there are no leaks and extraneous noise in the engine, check the clutch and the serviceability of the brake system, the operation of the steering and lighting.

It is necessary to periodically inspect the fuel and cooling systems to ensure that the filters are clean. You should monitor the condition of the spark plugs so that there are no problems with driving the engine.

If it is necessary to preserve the mini tractor for a couple of months, it is recommended to disconnect the spark plugs and drain the oil and gasoline (during this time they will take on water and become unusable). After this, clean the tractor, lubricate all parts with oil to prevent corrosion, cover and store in a dry place.

Hydraulic system

This mini tractor model is equipped with a two-section floating distributor. When connecting additional attachments to this agricultural machinery, it is possible to simultaneously control both the rear and front attachments - two separate levers are provided for this.

A successful design element of the Rusich T-15 hydraulic system is the upper location of the hydraulic cylinder. Thanks to this, its greater stroke is ensured, and much less dust and dirt gets into the hydraulic cylinder. Rear hitch type: single point hitch. There is a power take-off shaft (PTO) to drive a variety of additional equipment.

Tips for choosing

When choosing a mini-tractor, you should consider the purposes for which it will be used. When purchasing a “Rusich” with certain dimensions and weight, you should take into account not only personal preferences, but also its purpose. Units for working in agricultural fields must be heavy and powerful. And also the dimensions of the machine should not create discomfort during storage.

To mow lawns and maintain grounds, you should pay attention to lighter models. This equipment is compact and does not take up much space when stored. We should also not forget that powerful and heavy units require higher fuel costs, unlike light ones.

The functionality of a mini-tractor is directly influenced by its configuration. The main selection criteria in this case are several elements.

  • Wheel drive, which can be all-wheel drive, front or rear. An all-wheel drive unit is characterized by the greatest traction, and a rear-wheel drive machine is an excellent option for working between rows.
  • Transmission. The automatic option is most suitable for users without experience.
  • Number of driving wheels.

It is best to purchase multifunctional machines for your dacha if you have enough budget. The presence of a hydraulic transmission, hydraulic valve, power take-off shaft and 3-point hitch means that the equipment can cope with all tasks.

Dashboard and seat

The most simple and intuitive dashboard of the Rusich T-15 mini-tractor allows the owner to be aware of such important indicators as oil pressure in the diesel engine system, coolant temperature and battery charge level at any time.

The operator’s seat, too loudly called a “chair,” is, of course, better than a stool, but not much. True, it is cushioned from below by two springs, but in general it is not very comfortable: the back will get tired during long-term work on such a seat. Its coating is of fairly high quality, waterproof, with a seamless coating that is resistant to abrasion.

How to use?

When purchasing a Rusich mini-tractor, the user receives an instruction manual, which he must study in detail and use during operation. Run-in is a test period during which all key parts are worn in. During the first run-in, the unit should be loaded only to 70 percent of its capacity.

Stages of equipment maintenance during operation:

  1. shutting off the engine, removing the oil, washing out the crankcase and oil filter and filling the unit with new oil;
  2. draining the oil and then adding diesel fuel, as well as running the machine for two minutes;
  3. washing fuel and air filters;
  4. checking and adjusting free play on the clutch pedals;
  5. checking and adjusting the functionality of the brakes;
  6. checking and tightening bolts, nuts, screws;
  7. checking the operating condition of the electrical system;
  8. checking wheel alignment and tire pressure;
  9. lubrication of each unit.

If a mini-tractor is to be stored for a long time without operation, for example, in winter, then the machine is checked for serviceability, cleaned, and removed from fuel. The unit should be stored in a dry room, but if the equipment is located outdoors, then it should be covered with a cloth so that it does not get wet.

During long-term storage, the mini-tractor should be started periodically for a short time.

Tractor cutter and other (for an additional fee) attachments

The standard equipment of this minitractor, with which it is most effective - a rototiller - is an active attachment that is connected to this equipment through a gear reducer. Such a rototiller is capable of cultivating (cultivating) up to twenty acres of land in just one and a half hours of work - thanks to the working width of 1.2 m and the average operating speed of 2-3 km/h. The cutter has a chain drive with a double reinforced metal chain.

The single-hull plow that comes with the Rusich T-15 minitractor is unlikely to be suitable for particularly dense and hard virgin soils. In addition, in such conditions the minitractor will “rear up” - heavy ballast loads are needed on the front end. But in annually cultivated areas, he will calmly cope with the tasks of pre-sowing loosening of the soil assigned to him.

The recommended attachments for Rusich T-15 mini tractors are the following: potato planter (KS-2MT, KSM-1A and others); trolleys (TM-500, TMT-540); trailer; roll bar (it is possible to mount the roll bar with or without a visor); three-row hiller; dump for removing snow and (or) garbage; mowers of various types - rotary or segmental, mounted on the front, rear or side of the mini tractor; rake-tedder; harrows; potato diggers (regular, vibrating, screening - depending on the area of the site). The Rusich T-15 minitractor can be equipped with attachments from many other manufacturers of compact agricultural machinery without any problems. Such, for example, as Zirka, Salyut, Neva, Fighter, Scout, Rustrak and others.

Purpose

This model, like many others, is especially in demand on farms, because in addition to good maneuverability, the equipment has high versatility, which makes the machine almost irreplaceable. In addition to farmland, exploitation is often observed in vegetable gardens, orchards, personal plots, as well as in small agricultural fields.

The entire list of work performed includes a fairly large number of different tasks. The mini tractor will do an excellent job of plowing the soil, cultivating, harrowing the soil, hilling up beds and preparing the soil for sowing. The model also often performs planting and digging up root crops, sowing any crops, processing useful vegetation, mowing grass and hay, watering, applying various fertilizers to the soil, transporting various loads and crops, clearing areas of various debris, snow removal and much more.

What is the Rusich T-15 minitractor like in action?

This equipment is recommended for use on small plots of land – up to two hectares. The scope of application of the Rusich T15 minitractor is as follows: pre-sowing cultivation of previously cultivated soils (virgin soil - it is unlikely to be “too tough”); mowing grass for hay; hilling and inter-row weeding of crops; harvesting and transporting it to storage areas; removal of snow, covers up to thirty centimeters.

Based on the specific experience of using Rusich T-15 mini tractors by their real owners, the following advantages of these agricultural machines have been identified:

  • low price;
  • exceptional simplicity of design;
  • simplicity and ease of operation - the steering wheel can be easily rotated with one hand;
  • decent level of maneuverability;
  • efficiency in the consumption of fuels and lubricants;
  • the ability to change the track width for inter-row processing;
  • unpretentiousness, undemanding quality of diesel fuel, low cost of maintenance;
  • reliable engine that starts well even in cold weather;
  • compact dimensions, adaptability for work in any, even the most cramped conditions;
  • decent appearance.

There are also few disadvantages identified. The presence of some of them can be justified only by the inexpensive (in comparison with many similar competitors) price of the Rusich T-15 minitractor.

  • This is indicated by every owner of compact Rusich equipment - the appalling build quality. It was simply impossible to assemble the mini tractor more carelessly. Absolutely all the bolts and nuts are not tightened, but simply tightened. There may well be no oil in the steering gear and/or;
  • light weight, it is necessary to make the front heavier;
  • rubber of the lowest quality;
  • tight and unclear gear shifting – you need to get used to and adapt to Rusich’s gearbox;
  • The differential lock function does not work well, on many tractors it refuses to engage at all - the transmission needs to be rebuilt and adjusted;
  • low-quality hydraulic hoses - they fray, tear and burst in the very first season of using the equipment (or in the second).

One of the owners reports that just six months after purchasing the Rusich T-15, an oil leak occurred. He fixed it himself by disassembling the gearbox and replacing the gaskets. In general, you need to be prepared for the fact that all problems that arise during operation will have to be solved independently, using your own ingenuity and life experience. Despite the guarantee, neither the sellers of Rusich mini tractors nor their manufacturers will deal with repairs: you can call and swear for a very long time, and it is not a fact that anything will be done to solve the problem. Most often, they will “dynamically” and “feed you breakfast” for a very long time, experience suggests.

Another owner of the Rusich T-15 told a sad story: his minitractor “died” overnight, out of the blue, at the end of the first season of use: the crankshaft simply tore due to the factory’s excessive speed. At high speeds, using it turned out to be deadly. Getting spare parts from sellers and manufacturers, especially if they are under warranty, is an extremely long and difficult “song.”

Another owner complained about the following problem: it turned out that the timing of diesel fuel injection was very late, which is why in the end the minitractor did not develop all its power, but only smoked and knocked the valves. Technical support, he noted, is zero. Requests are not answered, ignored and dynamized.

In general, the conclusion about the Rusich T-15 minitractor: you don’t need to expect “stars from the sky” from it, it is intended only for light work, as a personal assistant and nothing more. It is better to work with a rotary cutter and plow on light soils, otherwise you will tear them. It copes well with transporting loads (but not heavy ones!) on a trailer, mowing weeds and grass for hay, and harrowing relatively light soils.

Despite all their shortcomings, mini tractors of the Rusich T-15 model continue to be in steady demand among Chuvashpiller dealers, thanks to their attractive price.
