Story

The beginning of design development of the RDK model range dates back to the distant sixties of the last century , when equipment designed and manufactured in the Soviet Union enjoyed well-deserved worldwide recognition. All developments were made taking into account the specifics of the Russian climate, which makes it possible to operate equipment in the temperature range from - 45° to + 45° C.

After the RDK 250 version literally captivated visitors to the international exhibition in Leipzig, Germany, in 1985 its creators, together with German specialists and their enterprise, produced a modified crane, which was successfully tested in Barnaul and was intended for export production. Since 1989, their mass production began in the GDR.

The RDK 400 crane is a caterpillar type of special equipment, the main functional purpose of which is to perform construction and installation work, loading and unloading large tonnages, as well as transporting bulk luggage with a grab.

The use of this version of the model range greatly simplifies the collection of reinforced concrete blocks and metal structures. At the same time, the equipment is quite mobile and moves well within the construction site or throughout the territory of the warehouse. It is reliable, durable and easy to use.

About the manufacturing company

Today, the former joint development of the two countries is produced both in Russia (Ufa Machine-Building Plant of Non-Standard Equipment) and in Germany (TAKRAF company). The crane has undergone several modifications taking into account the requirements for their operation in various conditions.

There are several sites in our country where the production of the RDK crawler crane is underway. All of them are equipped with modern innovative equipment, and all their products are certified and meet international quality standards.

Modification of the RDK-400 crane

The popularity of special equipment contributed to new developments, as a result of which the designers introduced the RDK-500 specialized equipment to the market. This modification is made in full compliance with international norms and standards. The European version of the crawler crane is distinguished by increased load-height parameters and has the ability to lift loads up to 50 tons in height.

The manufacturer of the crawler crane declared the following power and technical characteristics:

  • nominal weight - about 57 tons;

It has tower equipment and can operate both autonomously (equipped with its own generator) and from the electrical network of an external power source.

To carry out the work, the equipment does not require any special preparation of the work site. The crawler track is an excellent opportunity to move even in the most difficult climatic and road conditions, and also guarantees a stable position of the crane while working with heavy and bulky loads.

Specific design features of the caterpillar track make it possible to perform auto-turn on the spot and on curves with almost any radius.

A special feature of the crane installation is its low moving speed – 1 km/h. and rapid wear of caterpillar tracks, which necessitates the use of a special truck tractor with a trailer trailer to deliver special equipment to the construction site. Each movement must be coordinated with the traffic police in order to obtain permission to transport heavy equipment and escort vehicles.


Dimensions of the RDK-400 crane

Replaceable work equipment

The RDK 400 crane can, at the buyer’s request, be equipped with the following replaceable working equipment:

  • boom - consists of a boom tower;
  • tower-boom (allows you to significantly increase the maximum lifting height during construction and installation work). This includes several jibs with a control function, of different heights.

For all replaceable equipment, the developers have provided a safety system that prevents accidental tipping.

The main cargo winch is equipped with two engines, a planetary gear function and a drum combined with a gearbox. The auxiliary winch, according to the principle of operation, almost completely duplicates the main one.

Both devices are located outside the hood - this is very convenient as it does not allow ropes to pass through the engine room. The turning mechanism is mounted in the front part. The boom winch is located under the hood and is equipped with an automatic rope layer.

The height of the leading boom can be slightly increased using insert-type lattice sections. The main one has a size of 16 meters, the intermediate ones - each section is another 10 in length.

In the boom version, a 5-meter jib without the possibility of control is installed on the machine as an additional element. And its controlled analogues can be installed on the tower and boom equipment.

Truck crane RDK-40 “Klintsy”

The boom, self-propelled, full-rotating crawler crane RDK-40 is designed for loading and unloading, construction and installation work with primary use at stationary sites without frequent relocations over long distances. The simplicity and reliability of the design, as well as the advantages of using crawler tracks, make it possible to use this RDK-40 crane in difficult conditions on unprepared sites.

Technical characteristics of the RDK-40 crane

The drive of the caterpillar undercarriage and all crane mechanisms is hydraulic. Each mechanism has an individual drive with independent control. The hydraulic system provides smooth control of all mechanisms and a wide range of speed control for working operations, making it possible to simultaneously combine several operations. The design uses imported and domestic components and elements, the high reliability of which has been confirmed by many years of use in hydraulic machines of various types.

Distinctive features

The first distinctive design feature of this crane model is that the running gear is made with telescopic crawler bogies. This allows for a small size during transportation and an increased size of the supporting area when performing crane operations. The telescoping mechanism is well developed and corresponds to world-class innovative solutions. Due to the specific design of the tracked undercarriage and the developed support contour that forms the tracked bogies in the working position, the RDK-40 crane has a uniform load characteristic throughout the entire 360-degree sector and can move with a load on a hook weighing 10 tons.

The second important feature of this crane is the design of the crane portals. Their design is thought out in such a way that when installing and dismantling the crane on a construction site, there is no need to re-reinforce the rope: once done, it ensures the transfer of the crane from the transport position to the working position and back. In addition, the rear (small) portal allows for hanging counterweights. Thus, the RDK-40 crawler crane independently, without the use of additional lifting equipment, provides its own assembly and disassembly.

The third feature is the rotating part of the crane, which is optimized both in terms of design and operational convenience. Structurally, it is made in such a way that it has high volumetric rigidity, which guarantees long-term operation of the mechanisms built into it without distortions or damage. At the same time, the layout of the rotating part provides easy access to all crane mechanisms and hydraulic system elements for inspection and maintenance.

Another undeniable advantage of this crane model is its low transport height. Even placed on a trailer with a typical platform height of up to 900 mm from the level of the supporting surface, it fits into a transport clearance of up to 4 m in height. Similarly, the length of the crane is determined based on the conditions for ease of transportation on standard trailers.

The RDK-40 crawler crane has a main lattice boom with a length of 15 m, which, due to quick-detachable sections-inserts 5 or 10 m long, is extended to a length of 40 m. The use of high-strength steels ensures, given the accepted dimensions of the boom elements, its sufficient strength when working with loads even at site with a slope of 3 degrees. To expand the scope of use and increase the size of the under-jib space, rigid jib 1 m, 5 m or 10 m long can be used. In this case, the RDK-40 crawler crane can operate with two cargo winches, one of which is operated on the main boom, and the second on the jib. The crane's lifting characteristics have been raised to new heights and significantly exceed those of domestic analogues at any point in the working area.

Safe operation of the crane is ensured by a complex of modern instruments and devices.

Rotary platform

The ability to lift any load to a given height is carried out using a winch; its operation is regulated by two electric motors, and the hook clips operate autonomously - each from a separate motor, which are equipped with phase, squirrel-cage units.

The winch gearbox and drum are a single, well-coordinated mechanism that ensures reliable functionality of the turntable.

For ease of operation of the unit, two winch transmission options are provided:

  • planetary;
  • intermediate.

The mechanical system responsible for the crane's slewing function is located in the forward area in relation to the lifting winches.

Cabin

The control cabin is a welded structure made of high-quality steel; it is fastened to the platform and frame of the turntable with bolts. To make it convenient to transport the device by rail, one of the side walls has a special bevel. This way you can transport the product without dismantling the cabin.

The design of this important element is such that the operator has a maximum degree of visibility of the entire work area. This became possible thanks to the voluminous side and massive front windows of the cabin.

There is a special hatch in the roof, which is covered with a reflective element in sunny weather. And to prevent the entry of various foreign objects that could injure the driver or deform the interior, the hatch is equipped with a protective grille.

In addition, the hatch is also an excellent way of natural ventilation of the cabin. The operator's cabin door is locked from the outside with a key. It tightly and hermetically protects the interior from cold, dust and industrial pollution.

There is a pair of modern silicone wipers on the windshield. The only requirement for them is not to use the product during periods of severe temperature drops. If the windows are icy, the system may stall and fail. The windshield is freed from ice crust using heating.

An important advantage of the crane interior is the additional seat intended for a second operator. This is very convenient and functional, especially for large volumes of work and the need to transport the product.

A warm, comfortable cabin allows the driver to concentrate on performing his duties, and a convenient control panel increases labor productivity and relieves a person from additional manipulations.
