The line of MTZ universal row-crop tractors in the most popular traction class of 1.4 t.s. is quite widely segmented and is represented by a series of tractors with engine power from 80 to 110 hp. The Belarus 952 tractor occupies the segment of machines with a diesel power of 95 horses. Today, the plant presents this model in six modification versions, each of which differs in characteristics regarding the degree of environmental friendliness, the level of automation of management and control of the operation of machine systems. This production strategy makes it possible to diversify consumer demand, taking into account the technical requirements for agricultural machines in domestic and foreign markets.

Design, scope of application, distinctive features of “MTZ-952”

The structural basis of the Belarus MTZ-952 tractor is a semi-frame frame, traditional for most models of the Minsk Tractor Plant, on which a diesel power plant with a transmission module is mounted; operator's cabin; chassis and hydraulic system, which provides all manipulations with mounted and trailed devices.

The MTZ-952 tractor is designed to perform a full range of mechanized agricultural work in crop production, horticulture and livestock farming - with mounted, semi-mounted and trailed agricultural machines and implements. And also for transporting various cargoes, loading/unloading operations, and performing current tasks in the public utilities sector.

Compared to its related predecessor model, the MTZ-82, the distinctive features of this tractor model are: a driven front axle with planetary spur gearboxes, a reinforced linkage, an updated cabin interior, and improved design linings.

The MTZ-952 tractor is equipped with a modernized rear PTO - power take-off shaft and hydrostatic steering with a Danfoss pump, and a more modern turbocharged diesel engine. Otherwise, we can say that this is still the same all-wheel drive Belarus MTZ-82. This model is also distinguished by the reliability and simplicity of the modern transmission system - with a synchronized gearbox and multiplier. It ensures easy and precise gear shifting on the tractor without the need to stop.

Purpose

First of all, MTZ-952 is designed to carry out agrotechnical activities in agriculture. For work in the field the following is provided:

  • adjustable track width of the front and rear wheels, the possibility of doubling them;
  • pre-installed hydraulic suspension system;
  • creeper.

The device is aggregated with active and passive agricultural implements that plow, cultivate, harrow the land, or sow, plant or harvest. In tandem with mowers, the machine is used for cutting grass.

In addition to farmers, tractors are used by builders and utility workers to solve their problems.

Modifications and engine of the Belarus MTZ-952 tractor

The MTZ-952 tractor is equipped with a four-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine with a turbocharging system. Injection into the combustion chamber of diesel fuel is direct, the cooling system is liquid type.

The main power unit used to complete the MTZ-952 model is the D-245.5 motor from the Minsk Motor Plant. Its distinctive features are a 15 percent torque reserve factor and a high degree of efficiency.

The engine demonstrates stable and stable operation under any operating loads (including those significantly exceeding the nominal values) and temperature conditions.

Technical parameters of the D-245.5 diesel engine:

  • Power – 89 horsepower, or 66 kW, at a nominal speed of 1800 rpm;
  • The working volume of four cylinders is 4.75 liters;
  • Cylinder diameter – 110 mm, piston stroke – 125 mm.
  • Maximum torque at 1400 rpm – 386 N.m, or 39 kgf.m;
  • Specific diesel fuel consumption is 162 g/l. h., or 217 g/kW h;
  • Fuel tank capacity – 130 liters;
  • Travel speed: forward – 2.1-30.0 km/h; back – 4.4-10.0 km/h.


Modifications MTZ-952.2, MTZ-952.3 and MTZ-952.4 differ from the basic one not only in the design of the cabin and tail, but also in the engines: they are equipped with turbocharged diesel engines MMZ “D-245.43 S3A” (84.3 hp) and “Deutz TCD2012L04” -2V C3UT63" (86.3 hp).
These are also four-cylinder in-line four-stroke diesel engines with turbocharging and a charge air cooling system, with volumetric mixture formation. Technical parameters of the diesel engine “D-245.43 S3A”:

  • Power – 84.3 horsepower, or 62 kW, at a nominal speed of 1800 rpm;
  • The working volume of four cylinders is 4.75 liters;
  • Cylinder diameter – 110 mm, piston stroke – 125 mm;
  • Maximum torque at 1400 rpm – 411 N.m;
  • Specific diesel fuel consumption – 220 g/kWh;
  • Torque reserve factor – 25%;

Technical parameters of the Deutz TCD2012L04-2V C3UT63 diesel engine:

  • Power – 86.3 horsepower, or 63.5 kW, at a nominal speed of 1800 rpm;
  • The working volume of four cylinders is 4 liters;
  • Maximum torque at 1400 rpm – 350 N.m;
  • Specific diesel fuel consumption – 259 g/kWh;
  • Torque reserve factor – 35%.

All diesel engines presented on the Belarus MTZ-952 model meet the current Tier III-A requirements according to their environmental standards.

MTZ-922

The MTZ-922 wheeled tractor has a classic semi-frame layout with a front-mounted power unit. The machine is equipped with a drive system for the front and rear axles, which provides a traction force of 1.4 tons. Control is performed by turning the front wheels. The design of the machine allows for the installation of dual wheels on the rear axle.

The tractor is equipped with 1 type of engine - a diesel 4-cylinder unit D-245, equipped with a turbocharger and a compressed air cooler. With a working volume of 4750 cm³, the engine develops a power of 95 hp. With. Fuel consumption at operating power is no more than 230 g/kW per hour. The diesel engine complies with Stage 3B environmental requirements (due to the installation of a catalytic converter). Under normal operating conditions, the engine has a torque reserve of at least 25%.

The tractor is equipped with a single-disc clutch with metal-ceramic linings. Clutch control is hydraulic. The technical characteristics of the Belarus-922 are determined by the use of a 14-speed transmission, which provides a minimum speed of 2.6 km/h. When driving on public roads, an overdrive gearbox is used. There are 4 gears for reversing.

The box has a 2-speed drive shaft with a shank output to the rear side of the crankcase. The shank is removable and can be changed during operation of the machine. A hydraulically driven attachment is installed at the rear of the machine, providing a lifting capacity of 4500 kg. There are 4 hydraulic outlets installed next to the hitch - 2 side and 2 rear. The terminals are intended for connecting the working parts of trailed equipment.

The operator's cabin is built on the basis of a rigid protective frame. The outer casing provides protection from noise and vibration. The operator's seat is mounted on a sprung support and can be adjusted for weight and height. There are wipers driven by electric motors on the front and rear windows. The standard equipment includes a ventilation unit with a heating radiator. Air conditioning is available upon request.

Transmission, drive axles, power take-off shaft "MTZ-952"

The Belarus MTZ-952 tractors are equipped with mechanical synchronized gearboxes with an overdrive gearbox, providing 14 gears when moving forward and 4 speed ranges when moving backwards. (The multiplier gearbox, which is located on the transmission module of the MTZ-952 tractor, doubles the number of gears). The clutch on this tractor model is equipped with a single-disc, dry, permanently closed type.

Drive axles "MTZ-952" - with final drives (portal). The front drive axle of the tractor (the type of this axle is a solid beam) is equipped with a friction differential lock, which has electro-hydraulic control and three operating modes - automatic on/off (in case of slipping of the rear wheels); forced on and off.

As already noted, the tractors of this model are equipped with a redesigned and improved type of power take-off shaft (PTO). It has precise, accessible and convenient external adjustment of the planetary gear brake bands. The power take-off shaft is located at the rear of the tractor; it is independent, two-speed, with a hydromechanical control system. Speed ​​one is 596 rpm; second PTO speed – 1076 rpm.

Steering and brake control, hydraulic system

Another distinctive detail of the Belarus MTZ-952 is that the steering here, compared to the classic MTZ-82.1 tractor, has undergone changes - it is made of hydraulic displacement, using an imported Danfoss metering pump, a cylinder in the steering linkage and a continuous steering rod . The main and parking brakes of the Belarus MTZ-952 tractor are disc type, dry.

The trailer brake drive is pneumatic, interlocked with the tractor brake control (on request, it can be two-wire). The brakes are activated separately, hydrostatically.

The Belarus MTZ-952 hydraulic system is also made according to the traditional scheme for this class of Minsk wheeled tractors. It is universal, separate-aggregate, with positional and power adjustment of tillage depth. As an additional option, upon request, it is possible to install a mixed (combined) control system.

The steering and hydraulic system oil tank capacity is twenty-five liters. The load capacity on the axle of the lower link joints is 3700 kgf; the maximum pressure is 20 MPa, or 200 kgf/cm2. The MTZ-852 hydraulic system pump demonstrates a performance of 45 liters per minute.

Compared to the MTZ-82.1, the hydraulics of the MTZ-952 tractor have also undergone major improvements. The power regulator controls the rear equipment linkage cylinder. The three-section distributor makes it possible to control the cylinders (remote) of a wide range of units and agricultural machinery.

The number and placement of hydraulic outlets depends on the equipment of the machine. In the universal version, the machine has three pairs of rear outlets with a free drain outlet for the hydraulic motor and two side duplicate pairs of outlets.

Reviews about the performance of tractors of the Belarus MTZ-952 model are received, for the most part, positive. This is the same reliable and durable equipment to use as the MTZ-82. True, there is an opinion that the 80th and 82nd series of MTZ, as well as “variations on their themes,” should already be discontinued as obsolete. ke5ro However, for now, and in the foreseeable future too, there are no worthy alternatives (and above all - in price) for the 80...82nd series in small and medium-sized farms in the CIS. As they say - cheap and cheerful! And it will be possible to remove these models from production and “put them in the archives” only when consumers begin to purchase en masse more modern and more expensive models of tractors, of which MTZ also has many.

Among the possible problems that owners of these tractors encountered during their operation:

  • The engine cooling system requires improvement, “otherwise it’s like a samovar” (a larger radiator than is currently available would be helpful);
  • when changing gears, a characteristic crunch appears in first and reverse gears (where there are no synchronizers);
  • the fuel pump pipes may burst;
  • the muffler is not very strong in itself and is not fixed 100 percent reliably;
  • The steering fingers loosen too quickly. Seal leaks are quite common.

But in general, absolutely all owners characterize the Belarus MTZ-952 tractor as “very good”, with a powerful and productive engine that starts perfectly in any winter weather and always has a decent reserve of torque.

Advantages and disadvantages

On the positive side, machine operators highlight a comfortable cabin with good heat and sound insulation, ergonomic controls, and a powerful heater. This also includes a good overview and reliability of components. Among the shortcomings, the following nuances can be noted.

  1. Rapid destruction of hydraulic hoses.

There are few advertisements for the sale of MTZ-952 tractors on the secondary market of agricultural machinery. For tractors of this brand produced in 2014-2015, they are asking about a million rubles.
