Varieties
A hydraulic gear pump can have different features, depending on the attachment used on the tractor.
1. NSh-10 can be used for installation on tractors with excavator attachments. Actions must be carried out in a horizontal plane.
2. NSh-32 is suitable for equipment with attachments for working in a vertical plane. These can be bulldozers, dozers or graders; bucket sheds are also acceptable. Driving the grapples and booms is considered the most popular action for this type of equipment.
Device Features
All NSh brand systems operate according to a single principle and the differences can only be represented by structural elements and the type of equipment they are included with. In general, a gear pump is presented as a unit that transfers fluid to a hydraulic system. The driven and driving rotors, through rotation, concentrate the vacuum on the inlet side, after which the voids and grooves are filled with liquid under pressure.
Good choice
Schematically, the device is quite primitive, and operation does not present any difficulties, but every motorist or tractor owner should have basic knowledge about the intricacies of choosing a pump depending on the equipment being used.
• Determine the direction of rotation when selecting and further installing the pump (right or left). Markings can be found on the body of each pump: the letter A indicates a round pump, and the letters UK, U, UV and M indicate a flat model. The former are usually used in conditions of increased hydraulic load; their pricing policy is somewhat higher, as are their performance characteristics.
• An equally important factor is the typical connection to the drive, which depends on the shaft design - keyed or syringe.

Causes of malfunctions
1. If the hydraulic system receives little or no injection oil, the cause may be pump wear, drive damage, or a leak.
2. If air is forced into the hydraulic system or there is foam in the hydraulic tank, check the tightness of the pipeline, the level of wear on the drive cuff, and the oil temperature.
3. If the operation of the pump is accompanied by vibrations and hum, the reason may be vibration of the shut-off valves, wear of the drive coupling, or insufficiently reliable fixation of the pipeline or other system components.
4. If there is no required pressure during operation, pay attention to the level of general wear of the pump, the position of the valve adjustment, and the cleanliness of the spool.
5. If the pump periodically overheats, the oil level in the hydraulic tank may be too low, the filter may be clogged or the operation may be too intense.

Recommendations for use
Be sure to adhere to the limited time to ensure long and effective operation:
• No more than 3000 hours for construction and industrial equipment.
• No more than 1000 hours for urban equipment.
• No more than 4000 hours for agricultural machinery.
Change the filter every time you replace the pump, this way you can reduce equipment downtime and reduce the cost of ongoing repairs. It is permissible to use only original parts and spare parts, otherwise premature wear of the working unit will be inevitable.

Models and their technical characteristics
There are several model ranges of pumps, their main division into groups is determined by working volumes.
Pumps NSh 4
This line is represented by the following units NSh 4-4, NSh4G-3, NSh4K-3. The line includes both left-handed and right-handed units. Devices in this line have become widespread thanks to agricultural machinery. They use motor oils as the working fluid.
For devices of type NSh4K-3 and NSh4G-3, depending on the time of year, the following brands of oils are used: in summer M10B2, and in winter M8G1 or M8G2;
For units of the NSh4-4 brand, the following list of oils is used: M8V1, M8V2, M8G1 M8G2, MGE-46V, I-30A, I-40A, I-50A.
Please note that the NSh4-4, NSh4K-3, NSh4G-3 units are fastened to the drive using four bolts. They must be securely screwed, it is advisable to use locknuts. Hydraulic lines are connected to the pump using flanges equipped with O-rings.
The table does not show left-handed units as their characteristics are no different.
Pump NSh 6
The current line is represented by the following pair of units: NSh6G-3 and NSh6-3. The line also includes their left-handed counterparts (the letter “L” is added to the marking). Their working volume is 6.3 cm3, the nominal pressure is 16 MPa. Their purpose is to pump working fluid into the hydraulic systems of tractors, agricultural machines and other various units.
Pump NSh 8
The line includes three brands of devices NSh8-G-3, NSh8-D-3, NSh8-3. Available in both left and right rotation. NSh 8 is used on tractors of the LTZ-60AV, ETC-160-L brands, as well as on excavators of the EO-2101, EO-2621 and EO-2301 brands. As it becomes clear from the marking, NSh8 have a working volume of 8 cm3 and produce a nominal pressure of 16 MPa. For proper operation of NSh 8, you need to use certain brands of oils. In summer, M10B2 oil is suitable, in winter, M8G1 and M8G2 oils will be relevant.
Pump NSh 10
The pump received two different configurations NSh10-3 and NSh10-4. The working volume of the pumps is 10 cm3 and supplies a nominal pressure of NSh10-3 16 MPa and NSh10-4 20 MPa. Also NSh10-3 received four factory modifications such as NSh10D-3, NSh10V-3, NSh10G-3, NSh10U-3. Available in both left and right rotation.
Not enough for NSh10-3 and modifications: Summer M10V2, winter M8G1 and M8G2.
Not enough for NSh10-4: M8V1, M8V2, M8G1 M8G2, MGE-46V, I-30A, I-40A, I-50A.
Pump NSh 14
This unit received three modifications NSh14G-3, NSh14V-3, NSh14D-3. The working volume is 13.75 cm3, with a nominal pressure of 16 MPa. It found its application in the following tractor models: MTZ-1221, MTZ-1521 (since 1998), MTZ-1022 (since 2001).
There are few that are recommended for filling in NSh14-3 and modifications: Summer M10B2, winter M8G1 and M8G2.
Pump NSh 16
The pump received four modifications: NSh16G-3, NSh16V-3, NSh16D-3, NSh16E-3. The working volume is 15.6 cm3, the nominal pressure is 16 MPa. Not enough for NSh16-3 and modifications: Summer M10V2, winter M8G1 and M8G2. Used on the following tractors: MTZ-1221 and MTZ-1521. Available in both right and left rotation.
Pump NSh 32
Presented in two modifications NSh32-4 and NSh32A-3, which in turn exist in both left and right rotation. The working volume of the pump is 32 cm3 and produces a nominal output pressure of 20 MPa. This type of device is used on a great variety of different techniques and machines. A device of this kind is even installed on KAMAZ, ZIL and Niva cars.
Pump NSh 50
Two brands of left-hand and right-hand units: NSh50-4 and NSh50A-3. 50 cm3 working volume, nominal pressure 16 – 20 MPa. Installed on tractors such as DT, MAZ and BelAZ vehicles.
Not enough for NSh50A-3 and modifications: Summer M10B2, winter M8G1 and M8G2.
