DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

ChTZ B10M is a powerful bulldozer produced by the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant. The model belongs to traction class 10 and is considered one of the most common vehicles in its segment. The popularity of the equipment is determined by the reliability of the main components and ease of control.

The basis for the creation of the ChTZ B10M series was the ChTZ T10M tractor. The family appeared on the market in 2004, after which it was modernized several times. During the development process, the key parameters of the car were improved, which allowed it to remain competitive.

ChTZ B10M is used for developing category 1-3 soils without additional loosening and category 4 soils with preliminary loosening. The model has found wide application in the gas, mining and oil industries, in agriculture and forestry, and in the construction industry. Great power allows the machine to cope with a significant amount of work. ChTZ B10M can be operated in almost any climatic conditions. High altitudes up to 3000 m and high humidity are not scary for the equipment. The bulldozer is also capable of operating in temperature conditions from -50 to +40 degrees.

A special feature of the ChTZ B10M bulldozer is the ability to install a winch. ENGINE

For ChTZ B10M, 2 types of power plants operating on diesel fuel are offered:

  • 4-stroke in-line engine D-180;
  • 4-stroke V-shaped engine YaMZ-326N-3 from Yaroslavl.

The D-180 unit is used in a huge number of cars and is unpretentious. The service life before major overhaul is 10,000 operating hours. The design of the engine assumes the presence of a turbocharger and a filter system. Starting is performed using a starting mechanism or starter. Engine operation is possible at temperatures from -50 to +40 degrees.


Characteristics of the D-180 engine:

  • working volume – 14.18 l;
  • power – 132 (180) kW (hp);
  • specific fuel consumption – 160 g/hp. at one o'clock;
  • number of cylinders – 4;
  • cylinder diameter – 150 mm.

The YaMZ-326N-3 engine has improved technical characteristics and is considered more modern. Starting is carried out using a starter. The design of the unit is more complex, therefore the cost of its maintenance and repair is higher.

Characteristics of the YaMZ-326N-3 motor:

  • working volume – 11.15 l;
  • power – 140 (190) kW (hp);
  • specific fuel consumption – 162 g/hp. at one o'clock;
  • number of cylinders – 6;
  • cylinder diameter – 130 mm.

The bulldozer's fuel tank holds up to 320 liters of fuel.

Operator's cabin

To maintain normal temperature in the cabin, a heating and air ventilation system is provided. It uses the heat from the coolant for heating. The B10M bulldozer is also equipped with a curtain for protection from sunlight and a driver’s seat, which is adjustable to his needs. The cabin is double glazed, visibility is quite large. The front and rear windows are covered with bars for security purposes. The instrument panel is visible even when the sun hits, allowing the operator to respond to signals in a timely manner. Security systems - FOPS and ROPS allow you to feel comfortable in any situation.

DEVICE

The ChTZ B10M bulldozer is unified with the ChTZ T10M tractor (most of the machine elements are similar). Only the engine, fuel system and individual structural elements underwent changes during the development of the bulldozer. The technology is based on a powerful load-bearing frame, additionally reinforced by a welded spatial system with side members. This structure is supported by bogies with 3-point suspension and connected to a micro-suspension beam. This design ensures smooth running. The undercarriage uses tracks with a sealed joint.

Chassis parameters:

  • number of road wheels on each side – 6;
  • number of support rollers on each side – 2;
  • track width – 1880 mm;
  • base shoe width – 500 mm;
  • specific pressure on the ground – 0.055 MPa.

In the standard version, ChTZ B10M is equipped with a hydromechanical transmission with a planetary reversible 3-speed gearbox and a 2-speed gearbox with cylindrical gears. The transmission is smooth and highly efficient. Gear selection is carried out without reducing power.

Travel speed range (forward/reverse):

  • 1st gear – 0-3.61/0-4.48 km/h;
  • 2nd gear – 0-6.4/0-7.49 km/h;
  • 3rd gear – 0-10.1/0-12.5 km/h.

The bulldozer is also available with a mechanical 8-speed transmission with a hydraulic server for controlling the rotating mechanism. Some versions are equipped with a modified gearbox without a clutch. Interaction with the engine is carried out using an elastic coupling and a cardan shaft. This transmission is easy to repair and maintain and has great performance.

The attachments are controlled using a separate hydraulic unit.

The ChTZ B10M bulldozer uses a rigid frame cabin made of metal. Panoramic glazing provides full all-round visibility. A special heating system with several operating modes is highly efficient and allows you to operate equipment even in the extremely cold climate of the Far North. An additional oil-type heater can be installed as an option. The driver is provided with a Pilot seat with vibration isolation and an increased level of comfort. The seat has multiple adjustments to suit the operator's height and weight. The controls are located in close proximity to the driver. Upon request, the cabin is equipped with protection against falling objects (relevant for the construction industry and the forestry industry).

Transmission

The composition includes a transmission, including mechanical and hydraulic elements, which is responsible for speed control. This happens automatically and the main parameter is the external load. Another advantage of the transmission is the speed of reverse and change of speed without loss of power. It reduces the load, which has a positive effect on the entire machine and on productivity. The gearbox is designed for six speeds, with an equal number in both directions. Hydraulics are provided for switching.

The new B10M bulldozer can be equipped with two types of transmission. The first type is a mechanical reversible gearbox with eight speeds. The hydraulic server is responsible for the correct behavior of the rotating device. The second is a hydromechanical planetary type gearbox with three gears.

Advantages and disadvantages

As for the key advantages, this technique differs in the following:

As for the disadvantages, first of all, this is not the highest operating life of the D-180 engine, the need to frequently replace parts in order for the equipment to function properly, in high frosts the equipment becomes less safe, hoses often burst.

There are several device options. They depend on what type of motor is built into the device. There are T-10M.00 and T-10M.6000. Let's look at the devices in order.

T10M.00:

There is also a standard modification - B-10M.0111-1E and a modification that carries out work in swamps (B-10MB.012-2B4). The first one is equipped with a D-180 engine, there is a mechanical transmission, the engine is started by means of a starting motor, and there is special attachments.

The second model is used exclusively in swamps. Its engine is YAM3-326N-3. It is distinguished by higher power, this is due to the fact that the model is used in soft soil, the transmission is exclusively mechanical, and an electric starter is used to start the work.

Let's take a closer look at the type of equipment design. It includes a motor, which comes in two types, one used in normal conditions, and the second in swamp-type soil. The second type of engine has higher fuel consumption, but at the same time has higher power and performance.

There is also a standard manual transmission - three-speed, reverse and planetary. The transmission or, as it is also called, the chassis has a three-point suspension, a balanced beam, and the tracks have a sealed lubrication joint. As for the driver's cabin, it is highly comfortable, it is rigid, consists of metal frames, has all-round visibility, a special heating system, an oil heater and a vibration-isolating driver's seat. Additionally, you can install a winch and levers, which makes it easier to operate specialized equipment.

The models have a unique hexagonal cab, sleeve bearings that improve vehicle transportation in cold weather in icy conditions, and sound-absorbing materials in the driver's cab that reduce noise to a minimum, so work becomes as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
