The KamAZ-43105 truck, equipped with an all-wheel drive system, is a civilian version of the army vehicle model 4310. The equipment is distinguished by the absence of a centralized tire pressure adjustment system; the winch and power take-off are dismantled. KamAZ-4310 is an off-road truck. For the Kama Automobile Plant, this model was considered the main one for a long time. Initially, the truck was produced for the needs of the army. The first batch of KamAZ-4310 models rolled off the assembly line in 1981.
In the basic modification, the car received a fundamentally new type of drive axle operation. The truck was equipped with a permanent drive with four driveshafts. In the standard version, the KamAZ-4310 was equipped with a body consisting of a metal platform with folding rear and side sides. The model was also equipped with a wooden flooring, an awning and a frame.
The truck is designed to transport people and various heavy loads. The equipment copes well with complex tasks and has good maneuverability. The wheel formula of the model is six by six.
Three modifications of the KamAZ-4310 gained the main popularity. These are versions 106, 105 and 101. Moreover, the last variation replaced the base model in 1989. Modification 105 was considered a civilian version of the truck. Version 106 later replaced it, receiving improved suspension elements, transmission and engine.

In addition to the main ones, the Kama Automobile Plant also produced other modifications of the KamAZ-4310. The most interesting was the C4310 model, intended for participation in sports competitions. The classic engine in the truck was replaced with a more powerful one, adding turbochargers. Roll bars and a new platform awning also appeared. The debut of the KamAZ-S4310 on the rally track took place in the fall of 1988. Then the truck took part in the popular European rally “Jelcz”, organized near the Polish town of Wroclaw. In the team competition, Russian crews took first place. Since 1991, KamAZ-S4310 has participated in the legendary Paris-Dakar rally marathon.
Another modification of the classic KamAZ-4310 is also known. The Typhoon-1 version is a unique armored vehicle designed to transport special forces personnel to sites of military, special and anti-terrorist operations.

The history of model 43118 began with a strong-willed decision of the country's Ministry of Defense. The department needed a multi-purpose truck. The Ministry of Defense put forward a minimum need for replacement of components and increased cross-country ability as key requirements.
Soon the Kama Automobile Plant introduced KamAZ-43118.
The six-by-six truck turned out to be very successful. In 1995, its mass production began. At the same time, the model is still perceived by many as a novelty. It differs from other products of the Kama Automobile Plant in its unusual appearance. What especially stands out is the restyled cab of the truck, which is completely different from its “predecessors”.
The durable tractor, which belongs to the heavy class, quickly gained popularity. The optimal ratio of good performance characteristics and low cost made KamAZ-43118 one of the leaders in its segment.

The carrying capacity of KamAZ-43118 is 10,000 kg. In this case, the curb weight of the car is 8750 kg (load on the rear axle - 4150 kg, on the front axle - 4600 kg). The weight of the onboard version is 10500 kg. KamAZ-43118 is also used as a tractor with a trailer up to 12,000 kg or a road train with a total weight of up to 32,650 kg.
The width of the model excluding mirrors is 2500 mm, overall height – 3455 mm, length – 8580 mm. KamAZ-43118 is equipped with a cargo platform (length - 6112 mm, width - 2470 mm) with folding metal sides and a frame awning. With a closed side, the loading height of the tractor is 1545 mm.
A loaded car accelerates to 90 km/h. The machine is capable of overcoming 20-degree slopes.

Operation and production
By the time the KamAZ-43114 went into production, used imported trucks were widely used on Russian roads. But this is on the roads, and the Ministry of Defense was not going to give up domestic cars. So the modernized trucks soon began to arrive in army units, and the KamAZ-43114-15 chassis, which provides high cross-country ability, became the basis for fire trucks and various special equipment operating, for example, in the Far North. For example, drilling rigs and shift buses.
The truck continued to improve during production, albeit at a slow pace. The cabin received a modern cladding and European standard lighting equipment - with headlights in the bumper. The engine began to comply with Euro-2 environmental standards. The power reserve was increased due to the installation of fuel tanks with a volume of 210 liters each.
It became possible to install a boosted engine up to 260 hp. engine.
The family was discontinued in 2012 - it was replaced by cars of the Mustang series. Only the “extra heavy” “43118” remained on the assembly line.
