INTRODUCTION
DT-75 (75M,RV,N,D,E) is a general-purpose tracked agricultural tractor. The most popular caterpillar tractor in the USSR. In 2008, the Volgograd Tractor Plant celebrated the 45th anniversary of the launch of the DT-75. The tractor has gained a good reputation due to its successful combination of good performance properties (simplicity, efficiency, maintainability) and low cost compared to other tractors of a similar class. Over such a long period of time, the DT-75 was modernized several times: it was modified externally and internally, usually for the better. As of 2009, more than 2,741,000 units of tractors were manufactured. In August 2009, another modernization of the tractor rolled off the plant assembly line. The restyled tractor is equipped with a new cabin and a plastic hood, a new economical and environmentally friendly Finnish Sisu engine, the production of which was launched at the Vladimir Tractor and Motor Plant. It has a new index VT-90V (Trade name “Agromash 90 TG”). The signature color of the tractor has changed from red to blue-gray with orange color inserts. The production of the previous obsolete design DT-75DE is still ongoing. An industrial modification of the DT-75 tractor is the T-90 tractor, which differs from the base model in the presence of support hinges for hanging the front blade and front hydraulic cylinders for controlling it. In addition, the T-90 has different transmission ratios.
Tractor attachments
As the operating instructions for the unit indicate, it can be used with almost all types of attachments.
The structures aggregated to the model include:
- three-furrow plow for deep plowing of hard soils and virgin lands;
- rotary mower for mowing large weeds up to 1 m high;
- potato planter and potato digger for planting and harvesting tuber crops;
- sprayer for spreading fertilizer over a planted area;
- trailer with a total weight including cargo of up to 2 tons.

The tractor is equipped with a four-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine SMD-18N, liquid-cooled and turbocharged. The main engine is started from the driver's seat using a starting engine with an electric starter. To heat the engine before starting it, the tractor is equipped with a pre-start heater PZHB-200. The tractor components and mechanisms are mounted on a welded frame, which consists of two longitudinal welded spars of a closed rectangular cross-section, interconnected by transverse links. The clutch is dry, double-disc, permanently closed. The gearbox and rear axle are mounted in one housing. The rear axle has two single-stage planetary rotation mechanisms with band brakes, providing braking of the tractor both in forward and reverse. The planetary mechanism allows you to reduce the effort on the tractor turning control levers.
The tractor transmission, chassis, PTO, and rear linkage mechanism are completely unified with similar parts and assemblies of the DT-75 and DT-75M tractors. The chassis consists of drive and guide wheels, support rollers with rubber bands, four balance suspension carriages and two track chains. To work with beet harvesters, a unified narrow caterpillar track is installed on the tractor. The tractor is equipped with a separate-unit hydraulic system, a rear linkage mechanism with an automatic coupler, which allows you to connect machines and implements using two-point and three-point schemes, and a tow hitch. The hydraulic system and attachment are unified with the DT-75 and DT-75M tractors. The cabin is a closed type, all-metal, two-seater, sealed and sprung, equipped with an air cooler and a heater. The seat is adjustable according to the weight and height of the driver. Tractor TDT-75: description and technical characteristics
The TDT-75 tractor is a tracked vehicle of the third traction class. Produced by Altai Tractor OJSC, it served as the basis for the creation of modern skidding mechanisms TT-4 and TT-4M.
The machine has sufficient power to transport large and medium-sized wood from felling sites to storage sites in the absence of equipped roads.
Used for loading and unloading packaged wood. The chassis can be used together with trailed and mounted equipment for various purposes.
TDT-75 effectively performs:
- skidding processing of trunks and whip fragments;
- moving the trunks with the top back and forth;
- dragging of cargo, with incomplete and full loading or suspension.
Unit features
- Low specific pressure on the soil. Wide caterpillar tracks ensure movement on uneven forest roads, snowy areas, and swampy areas.

The skidder is equipped with a D-75T-AT diesel engine, a modification of the D-60T engine.
The engine is a 4-stroke engine with an in-line arrangement of 4 cylinders in a cast-iron block, the fuel mixture is formed by a vortex chamber method. The power unit has a power rating of 75 hp. With. at 1,500 crankshaft revolutions per minute.
Changes have been made to:
- fuel supply system. The fuel pump provides fuel supply with a capacity of 18.0 kg/h;
- the shape of the combustion chambers and the bottom of the aluminum cylinder. The injectors and cylinder head sockets are placed at an angle of 55° to the horizontal;
- cylinder air filling system;
- suction manifold;
- gasoline engine starting systems.
Power transmission
The clutch is a mechanism with two permanently closed disks, dry type.
The drive shafts ensure the transmission of motor rotational torque to the winch and transmission mechanisms. A small cardan-type shaft provides connection between the clutch and the transfer box. A large shaft connects the gearboxes and transfers.
The gearbox shafts rotate on bearings pressed into the gearbox housing.
Important! The box provides 5 torque transmission modes for forward movement and 1 for reverse direction. The locking device does not allow changing modes when the clutch is engaged.
The gearbox is controlled from the driver's cabin through a shaft with a cardan unit.
Chassis
The welded frame is made of 2 steel spars connected by three transverse pipes, a protective sheet and a front sheet.
The suspension design uses spring and balancer units.

Design and operation of the planetary mechanism (PMP) DT-75M
The planetary turning mechanism of the DT-75M tractor consists of two symmetrically located identical planetary devices for controlling the right and left track chains.
To turn the tractor, the tracks are turned off separately using planetary mechanisms, which, in combination with brakes, can act as friction clutches, i.e. disconnect and smoothly connect transmission shafts. The driving elements in the planetary turning mechanisms are ring gears 8 inside a common drum 4, and the driven elements are carriers 14, which are connected by shafts (half shafts) 1 to the drive gears of the final drives. On axes 13, fixed in the carriers, satellites 12 rotate, which connect the sun gears 11 to the ring gears.

When the tractor moves in a straight line, both sun gears are braked. The torque from the secondary shaft 7 of the gearbox is transmitted through the bevel gears 5 and 6 to the ring gears. The satellites they rotate roll along the sun gears and drag the carrier along with them through the axles. From the carriers through the axle shafts and final drive gears, the torque is transmitted to the drive sprockets 10, and they, rotating, rewind the tracks at equal speeds.
To make a smooth turn of the tractor, for example to the left, you need to move the left lever towards you. When this happens, the brake band releases the brake pulley and the sun gear is released. When one of the sun gears is released, the satellites stop rolling over it, as it itself begins to rotate in the opposite direction. Therefore, the transmission of torque to the carrier stops, i.e., the caterpillar is disconnected from the transmission. However, due to the pushing force transmitted through the frame from another caterpillar, the disconnected caterpillar still continues to rewind, although at a lower speed. Therefore, the tractor will turn smoothly, especially when the resistance of the towed vehicles is low. In this case, the carrier, although disconnected from the ring gear, still continues to turn in the same direction, since it receives rotation from the lagging track through the sprocket and final drive.
To turn the tractor sharply, after turning off the sun gear brake, press pedal 17 of the driver brake. Then the brake band 12 stops the brake pulley 1 and brakes the shaft 2. The tractor makes a sharp turn. If you stop it with the brake, the sprocket and caterpillar will stop - the tractor will turn sharply in place.
When both sun gears are released simultaneously, the transmission of torque to the tracks stops and the tractor stops.
Planetary gears serve not only for turning, but also as additional gearboxes, which reduces the load on the gearbox parts and on the bevel gears of the rear axle.
The axle housing 1 is cast together with the gearbox housing. The middle compartment, where the planetary rotation mechanisms are located, and the cavity of the gearbox form a common oil bath. The side compartments are dry (the brakes are located here).
The driving bevel gear is manufactured together with the secondary shaft of the gearbox, and the driven one 26 is bolted to the flange of the ring gear drum 27, which rotates on ball bearings. The inner rings of these bearings rest on cups 24, pressed into the bores of the partitions. At the junction of the driven bevel gear and the flange of the ring gear drum, shims 25 are installed to adjust the engagement of the bevel gears.
In the drum 27 there are two internal ring gears, each of which is connected by three satellites 29 with its own sun gear 31. The teeth of the sun gears are cut at the ends of long hubs, which are inserted into cups 24 and rest on bronze bushings pressed into them.
The satellites rotate in needle bearings on axes 30, fixed in carriers 28, which are triangular-shaped steel castings. The inner ends of the shafts (half shafts) 37 are inserted into the splined hubs of the carriers. Their outer splined ends are connected to the drive gears 36 of the final drives.

Bevel gears and planetary mechanisms are lubricated with transmission oil, which is poured into the middle compartment to the top mark on the rod fixed in the filler plug.
