“The Scania dump truck for transporting rocks has a particularly durable body. And if the Swedish company, as a matter of principle, does not buy engines abroad, but installs only its own engines on dump trucks, then with bodies everything is different. is connected with Polish manufacturers with a contract for the supply of KH-Kipper dump bodies.

Bodies supplied from Poland are divided into two types: with a capacity of 16 and 20 cubic meters. Twenty-cc bodies are installed on a four-axle chassis, and 16-cube bodies are installed on a three-axle chassis.

The main characteristics of the cabin are as follows:

Additional sensors, devices and mechanisms have a positive effect on the operation of the transmission in absolutely any conditions. For example, the longitudinal inclination sensor of the road surface (like in an airplane!) tells you when and which gear to select in accordance with the weight of the load and the speed of movement, in order to overcome a long climb as “easily” as possible or, conversely, carefully roll down, braking with drum brakes. The anti-slip system and the Retard system allow the robotic box to independently select maneuvering or power mode, and select the desired speed to overcome areas with a muddy dirt road.

Construction companies prefer to use trucks that can work in any road and weather conditions that correspond to our reality. Scania heavy-duty trucks excel at the toughest jobs on construction sites. Specialized Scania P400 6x4 trucks have proven their effectiveness in extreme conditions and have gained well-deserved popularity for their reliability, high productivity and operating efficiency.

Scania P400 construction trucks with a premium 6x4 base have comfortable driver's cabins that ensure long-term safe work for the crew.

The P 400 CB6x4EHZ dump trucks represent a modern range of vehicles. They embodied the advanced technical developments and design solutions of Scania. Trucks of this series are distinguished by the following qualities:

  • optimally powerful diesel engines that can operate reliably at any speed;
  • high cross-country ability and unpretentiousness;
  • a particularly strong frame and a spacious body, allowing you to transport a variety of construction loads.

The dump trucks are equipped with Euro 4 turbocharged diesel engines producing 400 hp. and 440 hp Separately, the following features of cars in this series should be noted:

Engine

The Scania G440 dump truck (8 x 4) is equipped with a DC13 102 power unit with a power of 440 hp. and a cylinder capacity of 11,880 cc/cm. The engine is equipped with a turbocharger and intercooler. The engine complies with the Euro-4 environmental standard, is equipped with a PDE power system and four-valve cylinder heads. The standard engine air filter is reinforced with a special “Cyclone” nozzle, which helps to completely filter out dust particles. In quarrying conditions, double filtration is a prerequisite.

Lubricants used in Scania engines are subject to strict standardization. It is believed that the longevity of the engine depends on the quality of the engine oil. It's hard to disagree with this. Both the manufacturer and service departments conduct thorough testing of both engine and transmission oils before sending them to gas stations and service points.

Sitting in the driver's seat, there is no mistaking this is Scania. The vertical windshield creates a feeling of spaciousness, and the A-pillars, which are quite thin by today's standards, practically do not impair visibility. The dashboard is also familiar, but here is a purely off-road unit - the traction control panel, where the differential lock mechanism, traction control and load redistribution system are grouped. In the center of the panel is a rotary differential lock switch that activates all locking devices in a specific sequence. The locking process is displayed on the central display of the instrument cluster in the form of icons indicating the current state of each axis.

Scania G (4x2, 4x4, 6x2, 6x4, 6x6, 8x4)

The main purpose of Scania G series vehicles is construction and other transportation related to work in difficult road conditions. The vehicles are offered in truck tractor or chassis versions, both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, with conventional or reinforced chassis, with standard or increased height frames, with air or spring suspension, with conventional or geared axles. The cabs are short and extended versions of the P and G models. For the Russian market, Scania G-series vehicles can be equipped with engines of five different standards that meet the requirements from Euro-3 to Euro-6. Family of 9-liter 5-cylinder engines with 250 and 310 hp. (Euro-5 and EEV), or 250–360 hp. (Euro-6) with which 8-speed manual gearboxes with a divider are mounted. The family of 13-liter 6-cylinder in-line diesel engines includes engines with a power of 360–480 hp. (Euro-5 and EEV) or 370–490 hp. (Euro-6). They are equipped with 8- or 12-speed gearboxes, which, in addition to dividers, can be equipped with range multipliers, and in some cases with additional “creeping” gears. Most of the proposed gearboxes can be supplemented with a retarder, the operation of which is consistent with the operation of the main braking system and the engine retarder.

For long-haul transportation over long distances, the flagship Scania R-series family has been created - two- and three-axle models of trucks and truck tractors. They are equipped with R-series cabs with a flat floor, providing drivers with the highest level of comfort among other branded cabs, and, depending on the version, have one or two berths. The most luxurious and spacious cab is the Topline cab. As a result of the 2010 restyling, a new radiator grille with larger slots, LED running lights and a new instrument panel appeared. Since 2014, modernized Sreamline trucks with a more comfortable interior, a special aerodynamic cabin body kit, numerous active safety systems and a transmission with Opticruise mode have been offered in Russia. The cabin features a sliding table above the passenger seat and a wider pull-out bed. The updated engine range of R-series cars begins with 13-liter 6-cylinder engines of varying power (360–490 hp), offered for the Russian market in Euro-5, EEV or Euro-6 versions, with which they are installed equipped with 8 dividers - or 12-speed gearboxes, which, in addition to the divider, are often equipped with a range multiplier, as well as additional “creeping” or “high-speed” stages. In addition, a V-shaped 16-liter “eight” with a capacity of 500–730 hp is proposed. Wheel reduction gears can be used in drive axles of automobiles. The height of the SSU of standard modifications of mainline truck tractors offered in Russia is 1100 or 1150 mm. The suspension is either completely pneumatic or with springs on the front axle.

Operating Parameters

The characteristics of Scania dump trucks intended for construction and operation in quarries are presented below.

The engine is coupled with a GRSO925R gearbox, a mechanical type, which has 12 forward speeds and two rear ones. The attractiveness of this mechanism lies in the presence of an overdrive gear (12th), which follows immediately after the straight line (11th). The gearbox is equipped with a tracking device that optimizes the operation of the gearbox in difficult road conditions or completely off-road. Thanks to the system, the best gear shift algorithm is developed relative to the engine load. However, you cannot rely only on automation; the driver must actively participate in driving the truck.

Particular attention was paid to optimizing braking forces when driving dump trucks on construction sites or in a quarry. Since Scania dump trucks have drum brakes on all wheels, it was decided to install a powerful R4100 retarder in the system, which provides a slowdown of the braking torque of 4100 units. These indicators indicate the effectiveness of the device. Thanks to it, the working brake system is unloaded. The use of an effective five-stage retarder significantly reduces pad wear.

Cabin

The useful free length of standard chassis supplied to our country for two-axle delivery models ranges from 6.4 to 7.85 m, for three-axle models 7.65 to 8.4 m, and for construction three- and four-axle versions these values are 5.7 5, respectively. ,95 and 6.6 m. By the end of this year, the importer is going to sell 300 gas cars with a griffin on the emblem from us, and also launch liquefied methane tractors in Moscow with an increased power reserve, since there is an LNG gas station on the Moscow-St. Petersburg highway .

Powertrain modernization

Currently, research work is underway to increase the service life of the engine piston group. Previously, premature wear of compression rings and cylinders forced owners to overhaul the engine. Today, work is underway to chrome plating the inner surface of the cylinders. This is an extremely complex process, since the thinnest film of chromium must cover the cylinder mirror evenly and remain intact for a long time. So far, engine builders have not achieved encouraging results, and the service life of the engines remains at the same level, however, still quite high.
