Technical characteristics of the tractor Belarus MTZ 892

Among Belarusian tractors with a traction class of 1.4 t.s., MTZ 892 occupies the position of machines with a power of 90 hp. The tractor has not received a wide modification segmentation like MTZ 952, 920 , 922, 923 and is produced in two modifications: MTZ 892 with a front drive axle with bevel gears in wheel gearboxes and MTZ 892.2 with a reinforced beam FDA with planetary spur wheel gearboxes. The manufacturer does not set a goal for this model to enter foreign markets with high environmental requirements, so the tractor features a simple exhaust system without additional catalytic cleaning units.

Engine

The tractor is equipped with four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines D-245.5 or, upon request, D-245.5S. The design of the power plant and the main parameters of the piston group are the same as the D 243 diesel engine. To facilitate electric starting at low temperatures, the engine is equipped with glow plugs.

The D245.5S engine has the Stage I emissions standard and differs from the D245.5 in the design of the fuel pump, injectors, pistons and flywheel. As a result, the diesel engine has a distinctive advance angle and adjustment of fuel injection parameters.

Transmission

As mentioned above, the composition of the main part of the transmission - the power transmission and intermediate part, the gearbox and the rear axle is absolutely the same and is interchangeable with the same mechanisms and components of the MTZ 82.1 tractor

Power transmission and intermediate part of the transmission

The tractor clutch is single-disk, friction, dry, permanently closed, located in the dry compartment of the housing of the intermediate part of the transmission. The coupling is equipped with a disc with asbestos-free linings or, on request, with metal-ceramic linings. The clutch control drive is mechanical by means of a driven pedal through a system of levers.

In the wet compartments, lubricated by oil from the general lubrication system of the transmission, the intermediate part contains: a power transmission shaft with a two-speed gearbox of an independent PTO and a drive gear of a gear pump of the tractor hydraulic mounted system, a reduction or increase gearbox of the gearbox.

Also, upon request, in place of the reduction gearbox, a reverse gearbox can be installed, which by its switching ensures duplication of forward gears into reverse gears. This configuration allows convenient control of the tractor when performing loading operations when moving in shuttle mode. The gearbox is controlled by moving the sliding gear using a switching mechanism fork connected to a lever brought into the cabin.

Transmission

The gearbox is mechanical, with sliding cylindrical gears and toothed couplings. The unit provides, taking into account the operation of the reduction gear, 18 forward gears and 4 reverse gears. By switching gears and reduction gear stages, the box generates forward speeds in the range from 2.26 to 41.1 km/h, reverse speeds from 4.76 to 11.04 km/h.

Additionally, the box can be equipped with a mechanical creeper or hydraulic creeper. The unit is attached with its body to the left hatch in the tractor gearbox housing and provides additional ultra-small technological gears. Also, a gearbox of a semi-independent side power take-off shaft can be installed in the left hatch.

A transfer case is installed on the right side of the gearbox, providing drive to the front axle of the tractor. Power is taken off through an intermediate gear connected by constant engagement with the driven gear of the first stage of the range reducer.

To control the oil level in the box and the entire integrated housing of the tractor transmission, the unit housing is equipped with a control plug on the right and a dipstick in the left hatch cover. During replacement, the oil is drained through the screw plug at the bottom on the right side of the unit body. Oil is refilled through a plug in the cover of the gear shift mechanism in the tractor cabin.

Rear axle

The unit also has a traditional design that is absolutely identical and interchangeable with MTZ 80(82). The main gear is bevel with helical teeth. The drive gear is installed on the shank of the secondary shaft of the gearbox, the driven gear is on the differential housing. The final drives are made in the form of pairs of cylindrical gears. The tractor's dry multi-disc brakes are located on the outer edges of the final drive gears. The differential locking hydraulically controlled friction clutch is located on the left side on top of the left brake housing. Taking into account the tractor's configuration with hydraulic volumetric power steering, the rear axle differential lock does not have an automatic mode and is carried out only when the pedal is pressed, which opens the flow of oil pressure to the clutch.

The brake control pedals are interlocked with the control valve of the single-line pneumatic actuator of the chassis brakes of trailed vehicles, which receives pressure from the standard compressor.

PTO

The tractor power take-off is carried out in two modes: independent and synchronous. Independent operation mode is carried out at two rotation speeds: 540 or 1000 rpm. The independent PTO drive receives directly from the power transmission (clutch) thrust disc. Further, structurally, the rotation transmission is transmitted from a two-speed gearbox by a separate shaft passing through the internal cavity of the intermediate shaft of the gearbox. Then to the planetary gearbox located in the rear wall of the rear axle.

Synchronous operation is carried out at a speed of 3.44 PTO revolutions per 1 meter of travel. The drive mode is received from the intermediate shaft of the gearbox.

  • The speed of the independent mode is switched by moving a fixed leash in the lower part of the housing of the intermediate part of the transmission.
  • Switching modes (independent - synchronous) is carried out using a dog clutch located in the lower part of the cavity of the rear axle housing. The shift lever has three positions: middle - neutral position, far right - independent mode is on, far left - synchronous mode is on.
  • Direct engagement of the rear PTO is carried out using a lever connected by rods to band brakes to control the planetary gearbox. The extreme forward position corresponds to “PTO engaged”, the extreme rear position corresponds to “PTO engaged”

The side PTO, installed to the left gearbox hatch with its own separate housing, receives drive from the first gear and reverse gear shaft. Activation is carried out by a gear moving along the splines and controlled by a driver brought into the cabin.

Front axle and drive

The front axle drive has a standard design completely identical to the MTZ 82. The transfer case ensures that the front axle is turned on and off, where the drive has two activation modes - “automatic” and “forced”. The intermediate drive support receives rotation through the driveshaft from the transfer case and acts as a unit that smoothes out negative loads. The drive mechanism and FDA are protected by the actuation of a friction clutch as part of the support.

As mentioned above, the two modifications of the tractor differ in the type of front drive axle installed on the tractor. The MTZ 892 model is equipped with a 72-2300015-A-04 front axle with bevel gear pairs in wheel reducers. MTZ 892.2 front axles with planetary spur gearboxes of brands 822-2300014-04 and 822-2300014-02. The bridges include a main gear in the form of a pair of bevel gears with helical teeth and a self-locking limited slip differential.

The operating manual is intended to study the design, operating rules and maintenance of the BELARUS-892/892.2 tractors.

Please read this manual carefully. This will help you become familiar with the proper operation and maintenance of the tractor.

Failure to follow this instruction may result in injury to the operator or damage to the tractor or damage to third parties.

Work on the tractor, its maintenance and repairs should be carried out only by workers who are familiar with all its parameters and characteristics and who are informed about the necessary safety requirements to prevent accidents.

Description and operation of the tractor Belarus 892 / 892.2

  1. Purpose of the tractor

    Tractors "BELARUS-892/892.2" are designed to perform various agricultural work with mounted, semi-mounted and trailed machines and implements, loading and unloading operations, work in transport, crop production, and livestock production.

    The main distinctive features of tractor models are indicated in Table 1.1.1.

Composition of the tractor Belarus 892 / 892.2

The tractor frame is semi-frame.

Chassis system – front and rear wheels are driven, with low-pressure pneumatic tires. Steered wheels are front. It is possible to double the rear wheels using a spacer.

The BELARUS-892/892.2 tractors are equipped with a four-stroke piston four-cylinder internal combustion engine with an in-line vertical arrangement of cylinders, with direct injection of diesel fuel and compression ignition.

The engine lubrication system is combined: some parts are lubricated under pressure, others by splashing. The lubrication system consists of an oil sump, an oil pump, an oil cooler, a full-flow non-separable oil filter with a paper filter element (for tractors supplied to countries with tropical climates - a centrifugal oil filter)

The engine power system consists of a fuel pump, injectors, low pressure pipes, high pressure fuel lines, a coarse fuel filter, and a fine fuel filter.

The engine starting system is electric starter. A means of facilitating engine starting in conditions of low ambient temperatures is glow plugs (for tractors supplied to countries with tropical climates - without glow plugs).

The air supply system consists of a turbocharger, an air supply tract and an air cleaner. The turbocharger is made according to the scheme: a radial centripetal turbine and a centrifugal single-stage compressor with a cantilever arrangement of the wheels relative to the supports. Air purifier

combined, with dry centrifugal (monocyclone) and oil inertial-contact air purification.

The cooling system is a closed type, with forced circulation of coolant from a centrifugal pump. The water pump is driven by a V-belt from the crankshaft pulley. To speed up engine warm-up after start-up and automatically regulate temperature conditions at various loads and ambient temperatures, a thermostat installed on the discharge line is used.

The clutch is a friction single-disc permanently closed type with mechanical control. MS overlays are asbestos-free (metal-ceramic upon request).

The gearbox is mechanical, stepped, with a mechanical overdrive.

differential, with independent manual control; trailer brake drive -

pneumatic, interlocked with tractor brake control.

The rear power take-off shaft is independent, two-speed (540 and 1000 min-1) and synchronous, the direction of rotation is clockwise from the end of the shank. PTO shanks – PTO 1s (8 teeth, 540 min-1), PTO 1 (6 teeth, 540 min-1), PTO 2 (21 teeth, 1000 min-1).

Lateral semi-independent PTO - two-speed 618 min-1 and 721 min-1. The direction of rotation is counterclockwise when viewed from the end of the shank; shank PTO 1s according to GOST 3480 (8 teeth), PTO 1 (6 teeth).

The steering is hydrostatic. The power pump is a gear pump with a left-hand direction of rotation.

The metering pump is gerotor, with an open center, without steering response.

Type of rotation mechanism – one hydraulic cylinder (“BELARUS-892” -Ts50x200,

"BELARUS-892.2" -Ц63×200) double-acting and steering linkage.

Front drive axle - with main gear, self-locking differential, final drives. On "BELARUS-892" - with bevel wheel gearboxes. On "BELARUS-892.2" - with planetary-cylindrical wheel gearboxes. The front drive axle drive is a transfer case with automatic FDA engagement, two cardan shafts and an intermediate support with a safety clutch. FDA drive control is mechanical.

The hydraulic mounted system is a separate unit, with a power (position) regulator, providing power, position and height control of agricultural implements.

The rear hitch is a three-point hitch, category 2 according to ISO 730 and NU-2 according to GOST 10677 with external or internal locking of the lower links.

Towing devices:

  • hydraulic hook TSU-2 – for aggregation, aggregation with semi-trailers and semi-trailer agricultural machines;
  • pendulum TSU-1M - for aggregation with semi-trailer and trailed agricultural machines (on request);
  • combined device TSU-1M-02 (with variable functions TSU-2 and TSU-1M) - for aggregation with semi-trailer and trailed agricultural machines; with semi-trailers and semi-trailer agricultural machines, depending on the installed coupling element (optional);
  • lowering rod - for aggregation with semi-trailer and trailed agricultural machines (on request);
  • cross member TSU-1Zh – for aggregation with trailed and semi-trailer machines (on request);
  • double crossbar TSU-1Zh-01 – for aggregation with trailed and semi-trailer machines (on request).

The cab is a single-seater with a protective rigid frame, thermally noise-vibration-insulated, equipped with a sprung seat adjustable for the operator’s weight and height, rear-view mirrors, a sun visor, electric windshield wipers for the front and rear windows, a front window washer, a lampshade and a place for installing a radio, with a system heating and ventilation (on request - only with a ventilation system). Upon request, an additional seat can be installed on the tractor. The cabin doors have locks, the left door has keys. The right door is an emergency exit. The cabin complies with category 2 according to EN 15695-1:2009.

Upon request, instead of a complete cabin, your tractor can be equipped with an awning frame or an awning base.

Electrical equipment in accordance with GOST 3940. Rated supply voltage of the on-board network is 12V. Rated starting voltage 12V. Instruments - instrument cluster, electric tachometer, two blocks of warning lamps.

Cabin

The operator's workplace at the Belarus MTZ-892.2 was made with the desire to meet current world standards of comfort and safety.

When designing the cabin, modern ROPS technology was used, which provides for the installation of a rigid frame and safety glass. This allows you to protect the tractor driver from serious injuries “in case something happens.”

The glazing is panoramic, the operator has an almost perfect 360-degree view. The windshield and rear window are equipped with windshield wipers. For winter operation there is an efficient heater.

In the summer heat, air circulation in the cabin can be achieved through natural ventilation. To do this, the side windows and the hatch in the cab roof open. Air conditioning is also provided, but only as an additional option, at the request of the customer and for an additional fee.

The operator's chair is made on a spring basis. It is possible to adjust the backrest in an inclined plane. The steering column is also adjustable. The cabin is comfortable, but only for one person. It’s hard to fit two people here, and there’s no additional seating available. As an option, the manufacturer offers an open version of the cabin with a tent frame.

Hydraulics

The tractor's separate-unit mounted system has three pairs of independent hydraulic outlets - two pairs of side and one rear, for connecting the hydraulic units of the aggregated machines. To work with mounted tillage machines, the hydraulic mounted system is equipped with power and position regulators. Upon request, the hydraulics are equipped with a free drain for working with hydraulic motors.
