MAZ garbage trucks are produced in a wide variety of variations, with side or rear unloading, helping to maintain cleanliness in cities and other populated areas. The official branch of the Minsk Automobile Plant in Mogilev produces municipal equipment for waste collection based on the MAZ chassis. These cars are also known under the Sapphire brand. The main mechanism of the MAZ garbage truck is the ejector plate. At the loading stage, it plays the role of a garbage press. Using the same element, unloading is carried out after lifting the tailgate. Upon request, the equipment can be equipped with a universal type tipper capable of working with European containers of various categories.

Design and principle of operation of the machine

Rear-loading garbage trucks are characterized by a fairly simple design, since most of the work is done by manual labor. The machines are not equipped with automatic drives, so they last a long time and are unpretentious to use.

The design of garbage trucks has not changed much over time. The modernization affected the compaction mechanism, the unloading drive, and the volume of the body also increased.

The operating principle of such machines is as follows:

A worker places waste inside the loading hopper from the rear.
After filling, the mechanical compactor (it is a push plate) begins the process of compacting the waste.
After compacting, there is free space for the next load.

The movement of the plate is ensured by a hydraulic system; its operation can be configured either in automatic or semi-automatic mode.

Unloading of waste is also provided by hydraulics; it is carried out according to the principle of a dump truck by automatically raising the front part of the hopper.

It may seem strange that rear-loading garbage trucks continue to be produced and used to this day. The reason is their economic benefits - they are more durable, have a lower cost and are easier to operate than their fully automated counterparts.

The MAZ rear-loading garbage truck has a number of advantages, namely:

The main equipment that interacts with rear-loading garbage trucks is garbage cans. For potential buyers, the compatibility of containers with the loading method is one of the main parameters. Therefore, when choosing a garbage truck, the appropriate container is taken into account, its type of grip (it can be comb or Euro DIN standard), capacity plays a big role (120-1100 l).

For garbage cans with a comb type of grip, front loading is used. Rear-fill garbage trucks can handle most types of containers. These include comb waste, including “boats” for bulky waste.

It is precisely because of its versatility and compatibility with different types of tanks that rear loading is so in demand and is still relevant today.

Side-loading garbage trucks (MAZ)

These types of municipal vehicles are equipped with a body with a rear cover, a pressing plate, a side control device, and electronic and hydraulic systems. The compartment is filled using a special mechanism, after which the waste is pressed using a pushing press. Waste is unloaded through a tilting body using a push plate.

The Sapphire-490743 version is equipped with equipment of Mogilevtransmash’s own design and is installed on the MAZ-438043 chassis. The vehicles are equipped with hydraulic cylinders with increased reliability parameters.

In the line under consideration, the MAZ Sapphire-Eco garbage truck (on frame 534023) has become a promising modification. It runs on gas fuel and is being prepared for testing and certification, after which it will be sent into mass production.

An important feature of the trucks under consideration is the high performance of the equipment along with good operational and technical parameters, which allows them to compete on equal terms with global analogues.

This modification is characterized by a high degree of compaction of the processed waste. The compacting mechanism is capable of operating in three modes: mechanical, automatic and semi-automatic. The working devices are controlled from a remote control in the driver's cab, on the left side of the body (for unloading) and on the side walls (for pressing waste).

Unloading is carried out using a push-out plate, which moves in the inner part of the body on fluoroplastic sliders, ensuring the most complete collection of debris. High-precision hydraulics are responsible for the reliable and smooth operation of all main elements. The external part of the equipment is protected from corrosion by a multi-layer paint finish combined with continuous welds. The new “advanced” garbage truck MAZ-590425 collects garbage according to world standards

OJSC MAZ has started serial production of the MAZ-590425 rear-loading garbage truck, which will improve the quality of waste collection and reduce the operating costs of utilities.

OJSC MAZ has been producing garbage trucks for more than eight years. During this time, solid experience has been accumulated, which allows us to make each new model more and more advanced. One of the latest new products - MAZ-590425 - has absorbed the basic technical know-how and is adapted to the specific needs of Belarusian cities (the main parameters were chosen together with utility companies).

An important feature of the new product is that it can remove garbage from a container of any shape and size. After loading, a special mechanism compresses the garbage under high pressure, and if there is, for example, a chair or stool inside, it will simply be crushed into small pieces. The lift can be started in different ways - semi-automatic and manual control is provided.

The body of the garbage truck is made in the shape of an ellipse without additional reinforcing ribs. Its technological capacity is 17 m3. The loading capacity of the tailgate is 1.8 m3. The lifting capacity of the tipper is 700 kg. Operating mode: continuous or cyclic. Curb weight of the car is 13,500 kg; load capacity - 7000 kg.

The base chassis is MAZ-534025-529-013. Engine - Weichai Power (or "MAZ-Weichai") WP7.270E51 (Euro-5) with a power of 270 hp. Transmission - manual 9-speed ZF 9S1310TO. The fuel tank holds 300 liters. Maximum speed - 85 km/h (electronically limited).

The new garbage truck has optimal dimensions for working in urban environments: its length is 8450 mm; width - 2550 mm; height - 3550 mm. Wheelbase - 4000 mm.

The garbage truck is equipped with a small cabin type 6501 (at the customer’s request, it can be two- or three-seater). Standard equipment includes air conditioning, a radio and a rear view camera. The final configuration, as well as the color scheme, is at the customer’s choice.

Description
