The implementation of large investment projects in the field of road construction in Russia is stimulating sales of new dump trailers. But if earlier carriers were primarily interested in such an important aspect as the safety factor of the structure (implying the ability to work with overload), now the market demands have changed significantly: operators operating equipment on public roads need solutions to optimize the curb weight. The reasons are related to tightening requirements for permissible axle loads, total weight control and an increase in the size of the fine for overload.

The Novgorod enterprise "Meusburger Novtrak", which in recent years has occupied the first place in the list of domestic manufacturers of trailer equipment, could not remain aloof from the requests of carriers. The designers conceived a completely new concept, the embodiment of which was a lightweight three-axle semi-trailer dump truck under the symbol SK-345 with a steel body with a volume of 22 m3. The semi-trailer is designed for operation in conjunction with tractors with a fifth wheel height of 1150 mm. The vehicle's own weight is only 6,500 kg, in the composition it is only 6,500 kg, and as part of a five-axle road train, 32,200 kg of cargo can be loaded into the semi-trailer.

LED rear lights make the semi-trailer more visible on the road

The design load on the fifth wheel coupling is 18,000 kg. By the way, today this is the lightest and most compact model in the entire line of Meusburger Novtrak “trunk-dump” equipment. It is also worth noting that this market segment includes products from the Kaliningrad Grunwald plant - the Gr-Tst 22 model with a dead weight of 6,500 kg and a load capacity of 27,000 kg.

The hinged rear wall is equipped with an automatic locking device

To achieve the required combination of weight and strength characteristics, the design of the lightweight Meusburger Novtrak dump semi-trailer was worked out to the smallest detail, and the materials used were revised. For example, while conventional semi-trailers can use 09G2S steel, the “light” version uses only high-strength Swedish steel Hardox 450 and Domex 700 for the body and frame, respectively. All components are also from Europe, time-tested and adapted to Russian conditions.

The Hyva front telescopic cylinder ensures tilting of the body at an angle of about 43 degrees

The steel bucket-shaped body of the new product has sufficient thickness of the side walls and floor (5 mm) for transporting high-density bulk cargo. To increase rigidity, the side walls and floor received edgings along the entire length. Additional reinforcement is provided at the points of the body tilting axis. Due to the semicircular cross-section, the wear resistance of the bottom is higher, and the body itself remains clean after unloading, without sticking of inert material on the bottom and sides. The front wall is sloping, and the rear flap is equipped with an automatic locking device.

Single-wire connection to the tractor hydraulics

An integrated coupling tray is provided for working with the asphalt paver. The electronic air suspension adjustment is configured to automatically lower the frame level when the body is raised. This function can be disabled manually, for example, when unloading into a hopper from a moving material handler.

Air suspension ensures a smooth ride

The dump semi-trailer body is equipped with a manually operated roll-up side awning. In the unfolded position, the durable awning canvas is fixed using rings and a cable. It is believed that the straightened canopy not only prevents the load from weathering, but also reduces the fuel consumption of the road train - by approximately 10% compared to an open top. For uncovering the body, a special technological platform is provided in the front part of the semi-trailer; the handrails, platform and rungs of the stairs are made of aluminum profiles. The Hyva front telescopic cylinder provides tilting of the body at an angle of about 43°. The operating pressure in the system is 190 bar. Connection to the tractor hydraulics is carried out using a single-wire circuit.

Additional reinforcement is provided at the points of the body tipping axis

The welded frame of the semi-trailer has a reinforced structure. It is based on two longitudinal spars, which are connected by beams and traverses. In the area of ​​fastening the elastic suspension elements, the side members are reinforced with transverse gussets. To provide assistance in an emergency, a towing eye is provided at the rear of the frame. The semi-trailer base is equipped with side protection made of anodized aluminum profile. The rear underrun load is liftable, making it easier to maneuver in difficult conditions, such as in a quarry, at a solid waste site or when working with an asphalt paver.

All steel parts of the structure are shot blasted, after which the frame and body are primed and painted with acrylic enamel. Metal should not rust quickly.

In the basic configuration, the SK-345 dump semi-trailer is equipped with a Jost support device with a lifting capacity of 24 tons with a manual one-way drive and foreign-made LED lights with a protective grille. The chassis uses BPW axles with disc brakes. Drum brakes are available as an option (note that the curb weight may be slightly higher). The front axle is lifted, allowing you to move without a load on two axles, reducing tire wear. The busbar is single-pitch. Tires measuring 385/65R22.5 are mounted on aluminum wheels. The spare wheel bracket is located in the middle part of the semi-trailer, the spare wheel is mounted vertically.

The chassis uses BPW axles

The load on a three-axle bogie with an axle distance of 1310 mm is 27 tons at full weight, which allows movement on public roads without additional approvals. The WABCO electro-pneumatic braking system includes active safety systems EBS and RSS (anti-rollover function).

Fixation of the body in the transport position is ensured by guides

For the first time, the new product of the Novgorod enterprise was presented to a wide range of specialists at the STT-2016 exhibition. This summer, the SK-345 model entered the market.

There are elastic spacers between the frame and body

The factory warranty for semi-trailers – dump trucks “Meusburger Novtrak” is 12 months without mileage limitation. Maintenance frequency (according to the axle manufacturer’s instructions) is every 90 thousand km. Warranty and post-warranty service is carried out at the plant’s service stations or at the stations of service partners.

HOW SALES GROW

According to the marketing agency Russian Automotive Market Research, in January-July 2016, the market for new trailers and semi-trailers amounted to 7,557 units. equipment, showing a decrease of 2.2% compared to January-July last year. The Novgorod enterprise Meusburger Novtrak showed an increase of 62.8%.

The largest regional markets for new trailers in January-July 2016 were Moscow and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, which accounted for 7.16 and 7.09% of new trailers sold in this period, respectively.

Even a half-finished “locomotive” makes a gigantic impression, even in the workshop. The parameters of the monster are as follows: total weight is 131 tons, length is 25.5 meters. The volume of the dump truck body is 21 m³, the trailer body is 35 m³.

Meusburger Novtrak
solved the difficult problem of cargo freezing in a trailer in winter. There won't be enough heating, even if you could bother with running it. On board the trailer there are two electric platform vibrators with a force of 2.5 tons, which is enough to break frozen ore.

The hefty frame of the trailer can easily accommodate as many as four spare tires: for the steered and drive axles of the tractor and two for the trailer.

Dump trucks-tractors go to the customer under their own power, but with single tires on the rear axles - in “full gear” the overall width exceeds road standards and is 2760 mm, with the standard being 2.5 m.

Trailers are transported on flatbed trawls. The total length of the hitch also exceeds road standards. Let us remind you that in the Mirny region of Yakutia, super-couplers will be used not on highways, but on “temporary technological passage”, where all-Russian restrictions on axle load, as well as dimensional standards on length and width, do not apply.

The wings only look temporary - tests have shown that neither steel nor plastic ones can withstand harsh conditions. Only those that look primitive, but are made of special reinforced conveyor rubber, can cope. And they are extremely easy to replace.

Another innovation agreed upon with the customer is a centralized lubrication system, a very necessary option for the extremely cold Yakutia. There are 34 lubrication points on the side wall axis alone.

Container Quick-Lock is a new patented system that secures the container to the chassis directly at the time of loading without driver intervention. Final fixation or release is carried out using a special handle. The adapter is mounted on the frame in the right place. Removable locks can be installed on any adapter.
